Maybe? I saw the Smurf films and if done in a light like how Barbie and Ken looked in Toy Story I'd check it out. I am gonna watch Trolls when it comes out on blu, so nostalgia may very well get me to watch it.

What should've been the trippy hard PG-13 lovechild of Wayne's World, Rock & Rule, This Is Spinal Tap, A Hard Day's Night, Pink Floyd: The Wall, Rock of Ages, Tenacious D & the Pick of Destiny and The Neon Demon was instead made into a supersoft PG milquetoast Justin Bieber/Hannah Montana inspired piece of mush for little kids.

(Most) of the casting was right, but the execution was really, really off-base, but I still enjoyed the film in spite of it's (massive) flaws.

That's completely fair, but others could, and in my case at least did. Diversity.

And it's far from just that, I didn't throw in Room as an afterthought. I could have mentioned Shawshank Redemption, or lots of other films too. Maybe when others think of the evil that men do then their minds immediately go to the bad guy in Smurfs. That's probably a good thing for them, but others have seen worse, sometimes much worse.

I'd agree with that poster that mocking someone for their looks isn't good, it's not something that I've ever done, but compared to lots of other stuff then it doesn't seem to me as bad. I was just trying to better understand that mentality.

Yeah, this whole thing really is pretty baffling.

If only there were some document of some sort that explains what the filmmakers are going for and why Schumer might be a good fit for their project.
