1) Pretty sure Ole Miss is in the SEC....

2) That looks just like a UGA home game to me.

3) We've already mentioned 3 of the best colleges in the country for women....ASU, Ole Miss, UGA.

God Bless college.

Go ahead and pile Clemson on that list... I'm sure everyone thinks their school has beautiful women, but there ain't nothing like the South!

The state of Iowa lacks the beautiful women of the south.

1) Yes, just making a distinction between us and all other schools in SEC or any conference. Sorry. It just doesn't compare when it comes to tailgating. As we like to say, "We may not win every game, but we never lost a party."

2) Our red is very close to Georgia's. That's not the best picture, just the quickest I could attach.

I know I'm coming across as an arrogant bastard. I'm just very proud of my alma mater and our traditions.

Well said! You really can't go wrong with any Southern school.

Sounds like Tennessee running back recruit Bryce Brown could have some eligibility issues because his "adviser" was charging for information and that could put his amateur status at risk. In essence Brown's adviser was fund raising money and then taking Brown and other football recruits on a bus tour to various college campuses. Brown's adviser said the tours were for academic purposes, but if the NCAA decides it was for athletic reasons they could declare Brown ineligible or suspend him. Brown was one of the top running backs recruits last year.

Bama has ranked very high in recruiting for the past couple of years. They had a couple of outstanding freshmen last year (*cough* Julio Jones *cough*) who will be seasoned sophomores this year (the next few years will be great.)

Bryce Brown originally committed to Miami but eventually decommitted but kept Miami as his number 1 team. Eventually they wanted a deadline to make a decision and he didn't make a decision so they pulled his scholarship offer.

Here's a question for all the CF nuts in here. Why the hell are there polls right now. No one has played a game. I think polls shouldn't come out until after 4 or 5 games (when each teams cupcake schedule is over and they've actually played somebody).

Probably just so that there is something to talk about on Sports Radio and these here interwebs

They're there:

1) For fans to have something to talk about ; and
2) For money.

I like them, but I don't like their weight. Polls should be released after a few weeks.

There shouldn't be polls at this time of year, but there always will be. Nobody truly knows at this point who will be good. Clemson and
Auburn were consensus top 10 pick in the polls last year, and Clemson finished 7-6 and Auburn finished 5-7. Meanwhile, Utah was unranked and finished 13-0. If Utah had started the season last year ranked in the top 15 they likely would have ended up in the National Title game, but because it took them most of the season to get into the top half of the rankings they ended up in the Sugar Bowl. However, fans love polls so they aren't going to delay them.

I had typed that same argument up (though you said it better) until my phone rang...

What I don't understand is the Coaches' Poll. Who honestly believes that the voting coaches are actually spending any time studying any team other than their own? Head coaches simply do not have the time to properly evaluate the top 25 teams, much less any team from the 120 in FBS other than their own. So what it usually boils down to is an assistant placing votes for them - the very situation that caused all the controversy in the SEC a few weeks ago when Steve Spurrier didn't vote Tim Tebow the #1 quarterback in the SEC because he had an assistant fill out his First Team ballot. And if the coaches aren't able to put the thought and effort into it, why do it at all? I guess just because we love polls.

I just don't get how this poll can carry any weight. I need you other CF gurus to help me out.

I'm so glad we got away from this guy. He has trouble written all over him. The U is better off without him.

You're talking abou have a better understanding of the skillset each team puts on the field, therefore it 'should' have more validity... again, theory and reality don't mate up.

I don't know if you read SI, but about 2-6 months ago they had a huge article about like how much things have changed at the U from having like HUGE scout/ agent sections to now there being like less then 50 people at the pro workout day. It was pretty shocking since I started really getting into CFB when they were so dominate.

Edit: Also Vtech loses another RB! I bet bama will bring the pain, especially if they have to go with a 3rd string RB.

Yawn. ESPN doing another front-page story on Charlie Weis and Notre Dame.

Why do they insist on it?

No one cares.

I'm not usually one to hate on ND just for being ND (the NY Yankees of CF), but I'm really getting sick of hearing about how this is the year. If they end up in a BCS bowl, I will be severely pissed. They have one of the weakest overall schedules I've seen, and as an independent, if they have a weak schedule, it's only because they want it to be so. At least in conferences, if the teams in your division are weak, you can't be blamed for scheduling them. Very sick of the golden domers this pre-season.
