This year, I think I'll skip the trip to London because my local theatre should have a 5/70 print that should look amazing anyway....

Cool...but I'd have to travel a fair distance just to get to a 70mm print, should any get a wide release over here anyway, so I'm still heading into the big smoke to see it on proper IMAX.

Finally managed to see La La Land last night. I can appreciate the 7 Golden Globe Wins and its 14 Academy Award Nominations. I appreciate the risks taken to bring back the golden age of musicals to modern audiences. Like attempting to reintroduce the Western genre to a whole new audience. Definitely a day one purchase. Quite a memorable movie. I think my wife and I were caught up in all the hype. To say we were "expecting more" is probably unfair. I am so glad it was produced.

lol yeah, I did see it with my girlfriend back on New Years Eve but I think I actually enjoyed it more than she did I'm really anticipating the upcoming blu-ray release

For the moment at least, I have cancelled my preorder of the La La Land UHD HDR disk because its audio format has not been announced. I won't spring for the UHD HDR version unless it has Atmos audio. If it doesn't I'll buy the 1080p BD version instead. I saw it in the theatre and loved it but that theatre didn't have Atmos. I keep checking to see if the format of the soundtrack for the UHD HDR disk has been announced but as of right now, it hasn't.

It's Lionsgate. They usually include Atmos or DTS:X on both the UHD and the Blu-ray.

yup. lionsgate are king right now for 4k. their transfers have been A+ for nearly all

I think it's essentially a given that this is going to have Atmos at this point. If it doesn't, I'll... I'll... ***** about it online once or twice then buy it anyway.

Thanks for posting this! I had been waiting for confirmation that the UHD HDR disk would have Atmos audio and this press release did so. Just preordered it from Amazon.
