I agree and admire what Panasonic has accomplished with LGD's UHD/HDR OLED panel and wish it could be included in our 2017 TV Shootout. Unfortunately since it's only intended for the Hollywood and Broadcast markets and that we only show currently available "MP", mass production displays we cannot include the TX-65EZ1000.

And if all goes as we planned (I'll need to double check this), I believe Sony will be loaning us the BVMX300 RGB Reference OLED monitor so we can have a true reference display to compare all other displays for color fidelity and other attributes of grading. Otherwise I would also have loved to have Panasonic EZ1000 as our reference display even if it was not included in the TV Shootout contest.

Wanted to add, we are one a the very few factory direct Panasonic NA authorized dealers. We have an open dealer account with Panasonic NA. I spent much time with the EZ1000 at the Las Vegas NAB 2017 and with my old acquaintance, Mr. Henry Houser.

Good idea.
Seems to me that somebody on this forum advised trying to procure that monitor for exactly that purpose.

Yeah, that’s the operating phrase isn’t it. Even post facilities with large orders to fulfill are taking a number and standing in line.

Robert, the event is getting closer. Any news/progress note about the shootout to report?

Robert, when the web addresses for the streaming or YouTube become established, could you post them in the OP, that way we won't have to comb through the whole thread to find them.

Looking forward to my first time seeing how the shootout works and looks, vicariously through my computer.

I have mixed emotions regarding the Shootout

Love watching it. Someday I will get to see it live

But watching always makes me want to buy and that is always hard to explain to my wife why another $10,000.00 is needed

Just say to yourself - The technology is evolving and it will be much better next year!

Yes, evolving so fast that what one buys today is obsolete a month from now. My main TV is two years old in another month or two. That is almost an antique to a videophile.

I was able to confirm Sony's BVMX-300 RGB color grading monitor will be at the TV Shootout and used as our reference display so we will know exactly how the content should look.

Somewhat unrelated, but I was also added to the panel of presenters at CE Week.

Things are shaping up to the culmination of our 2017 TV Shootout. Equipment arriving now and tomorrow's the big day for set-up, practice, meet the press. Then the 1st series of video presentations by Joel Silver, Kevin Miller and their team from AV PRO Store, Matt and Jeff Murray

Also helping with the set-up is Brett from Metra Cables and thanks to the kind lending of Konica/Minolta CS-2000 Spectroradiometer.

All looks very cool with the six 2107 TVs along side Sony's BVM-X300 RGB OLED color grading professional monitor.

At this time of the year, I sure wish I lived near or even a state or two away so I could just pop in.

I will be watching. Getting excited.

Wish I was there. No really, wish I was there!
Hunkered down on day 10 of current heat wave 100+ degree days, dodging solar flares right and left. :drama queen:

Look forward to your links for the live streaming video...
And maybe some pictures of rain, or clouds, or snow, etc ...
