Does anyone know if the 50% off for more than 10 is going away if you use the computer program? Anything in the changed terms of service about that?

I've got 10 DVDs cued up at home right now, but I have blu rays for some of those movies (but no blu ray reader). So do I need to rush the order through and pay $2.50 a piece for everything in the cart, or do I have time to take out the ones I have blu rays for (so I can pay $2 to convert them with the mobile app) and pick some more DVDs to convert with the computer program?

Seems like you could just add 10 or more with the mobile app to your queue and then just pay for them on the desktop app and get the discount.

Is it known that they utilize the same queue? I assumed they would be different.

I thought D2D had added a few post 2013 titles on the site... I dont recall Kingsman or Xmen DOFP being before 2013

Yeah, no one knows yet. The Mobile D2D may not even have a "queue". Maybe you just scan and then immediately pay for just the one movie, just like how purchasing movies currently works.

Of course I will have to juggle accounts just to potentially be able to use this new service as my maximum number of devices was reached a while back

He is referring to the ability to read them and convert at home. Many recent releases were added, but they do not work at home, only in store.

I wonder if some of the 3D in store only titles will work with this

Your queue has always been tied to your account whether you're in the website or the D2D home app, regardless of what computer you're on. I would always load on one computer and then go pay for it on another.

Maybe it'll be different with the mobile app.

I took out any movies I had on Blu ray and did an all DVD order. That new page looks like it is the new, general disc to digital page, covering both the mobile and computer program. And it doesn't say anything on it about a discount for 10 or more. So I would not be surprised at all if that deal, which they always said was for a limited time, is going away. I could be wrong, but at least I got in one last order

Yes, this is known.

This is the question.

Edit: There are enough issues with the current cart system, that I would guess they will start fresh with a new system, but we hopefully will find out tomorrow.

Regardless of what movies they display on that page, post-2013 movies do not work in the computer program because it uses an outdated version of gracenote to verify the disc you insert that cannot recognize any movie released after that point in time. Those movies could only be converted by taking them into a store to have them verified by an employee. In short, those movies were eligible for in-home disc to digital, but there was no way to actually do it.

Yes it does, the new titles listed on the D2D site that were newer, I never needed to check because the copies of the movies I bought had UV slips, this not needing to do a D2D

Roll your eyes somewhere else, I was only referring to a few specific movies mentioned on that page... and my previous post was in response to the message above it

Same name strikes again. I remember a lot of complaints in the early days of d2d on the Vudu boards that the Illusionist (with edward norton) would come up as not eligible when the actual D2D movie was the Oscar nominated animated movie.

Does this mean the in-home D2D will now recognize the 2013 and newer titles, or will those only work with this UPC scanner app?

SUNNYVALE, Calif. – March 23, 2017 – Vudu, Walmart’s subscription-free, premium video streaming service, announced today the launch of the first mobile offering to convert DVDs and Blu-rays into digital libraries, right from a customer’s phone. Available beginning today, March 23, at 12:00 p.m. EDT, Mobile Disc-to-Digital turns DVDs and Blu-rays into digital movies* with a simple scan through the Vudu app. These movies can then be viewed on hundreds of Vudu-enabled devices including televisions, Blu-ray disc players, gaming consoles, streaming players and through the Vudu app on phones and tablets.

Over the past several years, Vudu has seen increased demand for its offerings that bridge physical and digital entertainment, including its in-home Disc-to-Digital service and InstaWatch, which automatically sends customers a digital copy of eligible DVDs or Blu-ray discs purchased at Walmart stores and on Walmart.com.

“The average movie collector owns nearly 100 DVDs and Blu-rays.** We know these customers have invested a lot into building their physical movie collections,” said Jeremy Verba, general manager, Vudu. “As more and more customers create digital libraries, we are constantly looking for ways to help them unlock additional value from the movies they already own.”

Mobile Disc-to-Digital works on iPhones and Android devices and is available for nearly 8,000 movies from Lionsgate, Paramount Home Media Distribution, Sony Pictures Home Entertainment, Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment, Universal Pictures Home Entertainment and Warner Bros. Home Entertainment. Additional titles will be added in the coming months.

Movie fans can convert a DVD to SD or a Blu-ray disc to HDX for $2. To upgrade DVDs to HDX, it will cost $5 per title. All Vudu users will receive one complimentary first-time mobile conversion.

Mobile Disc-to-Digital conversions must take place at a customer’s home / billing address. Mobile Disc-to-Digital works in three easy steps:

Scan – Navigate to Disc-to-Digital in the Vudu app and scan the barcode on the physical disc case.
Convert – Choose SD or HDX. Submit one title or scan all of your movies before submitting.
Watch – Watch your movies on any Vudu-enabled device.
“Like Walmart, at Vudu we’re always striving to save our customers time and money,” added Verba. “Our Mobile Disc-to-Digital service is a key part of Vudu’s broader effort to make digital entertainment access simple and convenient.”

For more information on Vudu, visit http://www.Vudu.com.

*Customers need a free UltraViolet account in order to use Mobile Disc-to-Digital
