Earth v1.1, awaiting v2.0

![]() But I was taught in the 1st grade that zero + zero = zero. It is easy to have zero issues when you have zero HDR10+ disc content. Why don’t we wait until you post a review to a HDR10+ disc on a 4K HDR10+ Blu-ray Player. As Ripley said “It's the only way to be sure.” ![]() I haven’t checked the AVS threads today to see if Amazon has streaming HDR10+ content yet. It is September and it was supposed to be here by August. (Unless they meant 2018). ![]() I specified disc content because you are one slippery (_____). It certainly looks like that the Samsung community was expecting Amazon the provide HDR10+ content by the end of August. Let’s hear from the Samsung insider on AVS. 8/28/17 Quote:
Let’s turn to Blu-ray.com’s resident expert too see when he believes HDR10+ content will be available. Quote:

Hate to be the bearer of bad news but The Cabin in the Woods is another grey letterbox bar fiasco. Go to 18:52 or 24:02 and use any DV picture mode you want it doesn't matter. Now forcing the player to use HDR-10 with HDR forced mode the problem disappears. Unfortunately HDR-10 seems the best way to watch DV till they figure out the problem and get some FW updates to the hardware set up. I am using a 203 and C6 Oled.

Grey bars throughout on my E6/Oppo 203 during Power Rangers. I have a few other DV discs (Despicable Me 1 & 2, Cabin in the Woods), but I haven't tried them out yet.

Im not aware of HD-DVD having issues, they lost the war...not the functionality...

That's precisely my point- whether a given format has any technical hurdles in its first year on the market does not necessarily have any bearing whatsoever on its likelihood of winning "the war".

All of the advantages of its competitor have been discussed, but here's another thing. Its competitor is backed by a manufacturer that has completely dominated TV sales for the last decade, and whose sales continue to rise year after year. They sell nearly as many TVs as all manufacturers who support DV combined. Then you add Panasonic (who is re-entering the Candian market, and may re-enter the US market at some point, given the success of its OLED TVs) and Philips who is rumored to support HDR10+ at some point. Then you look at studio support, in order of market share. Disney doesn't support either format on disc yet. WB has said they are committed to DV, but they have yet to release any DV discs, and they also claim that they are very much interested in HDR10+. Fox is 100% backing HDR10+, and will be the most active studio in supporting dynamic HDR of any kind. Universal has maybe a couple of DV discs out, but they've also worked closely with Samsung on their cinema LED display, so that partnership could very well result in them supporting HDR10+. From there, market share decreases significantly. Samsung has a partnership with the Xbox One X as well, and getting HDR10+ on there would be huge. So HDR10+ has built a strong base of support (that continues to grow) that's very very nearly as wide as DV has been able to build, despite DV's huge head start. And if it happens, your life changes how? Damn, you sound like a FanDroid or crAppleboi. What does it really matter? I for one, new here, now hope HDR10+ dies off, just to see you commit harikiri. How old are you, if over 12, grow up already.

Only those on the "other side" of this debate are fanatical enough to do that. I'm just being realistic, that's all.

Well he's ( damn me, I shouldn't assume what it is with how what seems to be the majority of the populace reacts these days) failing because I like giving retailers my money, because well money was only created to be used.
