Universal did release "Lionheart" on BD & Digital only as part of Van Damme 5-Movie Action Pack back in 2014.

Cut to 2017 and Amazon.com has it available on Prime under the foreign title "Leon".

Now, does this mean Universal lost the rights and Imperial now has the North American rights, If that's the case, does MVD have access to it? (If you do, I hope is with the "Lionheart" title)

You ask many questions.

Yes... Lionheart used to be with Universal in that multipack. I'm hoping Black Eagle does well for us. That will certainly make any future releases easier to do.

I apologize, I get exited when I see a label releasing the type of films that I love and have been hoping to get on BD.

MVD Guy - The other day I congratulated you guys and wished you well on your endeavor and today you announce the first film I intend to buy from your label: Black Eagle. Looking forward to it and keep it up!

I’d normally get 2 out of the first 3 announced. But since you’re going through the trouble of giving these spine numbers, my collection will feel empty without #1. Thus, I’m sure I’ll get D.O.A. too.

I have to say... Even though I'm a collector, D.O.A. wouldn't have been my first choice either. BUT, having worked on this and seen it, the movie itself is such a throwback (like maybe "Style Wars" or "Wild Style") to a long gone era, its a pretty fun watch. Plus the bonus feature length documentary, ''Dead On Arrival: The Punk Documentary That Almost Never Was'' is pretty great too.

Honestly, one of the things I love the most about D.O.A. is that damn poster. If you have ever seen the John Belushi / Dan Aykroyd "Neighbors" the poster is prominently featured on the wall of Belushi's daughter's character's bedroom. That was my first exposure ever to this film... the poster on the wall in "Neighbors". That's one of the things that inspired me to put mini-posters in with these releases. The original art on most of these is so cool, who wouldn't want it bigger.

Thanks again. you won't be disappointed on D.O.A.! And the price on Amazon should drop. It always does.

Hello since Comin' At Ya was mentioned (and you've also had something to do with American Mummy) is another 3D title possible? Thanks!

The Movie Channel aired in HD many years ago so MGM already has a HD master. I think it's just a matter of time before one of the labels releases it on blu-ray.

MVD Rewind Guy, since you're deep in the know with who owns what and etc., do you know the current rights situation with Ticks (1993).

It was an Overseas Filmgroup title that Republic Pictures (owned by Paramount) released in the US. Paramount licensed it to Olive Films for a DVD/BD release 5 years ago and then went OOP because Paramount's rights expired and went back to First Look/Overseas Filmgroup's then current form, Millennium Entertainment. They of course, did nothing with it and shortly after Millennium became Alchemy they filed for chaper 11 and went under. Since some of Alchemy's titles were auctioned off, I hope some indie holding company does have it out for licencing as the Olive Films releases are fetching serious $$$ and is in rather high demand because of its ownership rights mess.

Shout needs to be releasing them in a double-packed Busey Blu.
