Let's not beat a dead horse. This is brought up all the time. You're on a site about watching and collecting physical media, bashing the concept seems pointless here.

Also, I don't have a Netflix subscription anymore, so OWNING the show physically is important to me; as it is to many more.

I prefer physical media plus I love the show and I want to own it.

Think of it this way. How many movies do you own that are on Netflix, Hulu or Amazon? Many times folks will buy a BD on sale even though it's likely playing on one of those streaming services.

Plus, some people don't even use Netflix at all.

Lots of reasons to buy rather than stream.

Ever since Fox screwed up and stopped releasing Archer on blu-ray with the Seventh Season, I made a silent vow never to purchase individual seasons of a continuing show*(i.e. True Detective does not count since seasons stand on their own) and to wait until the series is completed and released in full.

That said, I'm going to have to make an exception for this release.

While I LOVE the retro style VHS packaging, it's going to look crappy sitting on my shelf among my other blurays/DVD's.

Yet, it makes PERFECT since to release it this way. I sure would love to see the INSIDE of this VHS box.

This edition is considered a "Collector's Edition" so it should be treated as Gift Set.

Exactly! Physical copies are always better. will be interesting to see this in proper full resolution HD 1080P without streaming issues and less posterization on the image that seemed to plague the show from time to time.

also come on hopefully full HD Dolby True Audio option or DTS HD MA

could you imagine if it came with a Dolby True Atmos track! Ok I shouldn't ask for too much.
