All the more reason why Unbreakable was great and why I'm extremely excited for Glass.

Has this movie ever had a remaster since the DVD/BD release? If this new UHD is based on the same master, i am not sure it will look that much better.
But great news nevertheless and one of the best, if not the best action movie ever!

Yeah, I really hope for royal treatment with this. Don't just put it out for meatheads and bank on name recognition.

Fox has done good work on UHD so far, though I think I've only seen newer stuff like Prometheus, Logan, X-Men and the Apes trilogy. This is an opportunity for them to show they can step up for 80's and early 90's material.

You should check out The Revenant and Deadpool. Still two of the best looking UHDs to date.

I was just thinking of Deadpool as X-Men I guess, but yeah, forgot The Revenant was Fox. Revenant is still the best looking release on the format so far imo.

Fox is typically solid for PQ. What pisses me off about them is the lack of Atmos on so many titles that had theatrical Atmos mixes. And their lack of metadata for displays/processors that use HDR metadata for tone mapping decisions.

I've always wondered about that. What does a display do when it isn't provided any metadata?

Maybe a new Predator UHD isn't too far behind. The new 4K version on itunes looks good, but I miss the lossless audio track.

My OLED does frame by frame analysis for tone mapping (C7 OLED). My projection system uses a Lumagen Radiance Pro. It bases its tone map in the case of Fox's titles on the Max Display level that is reported (Fox are mainly 1000 nits, but they have a couple they did on a Samsung that are 1200 nits). But it gets the best results when MaxCLL is reported (AND ACCURATE). I haven't checked a lot of them but Fox UHD titles via iTunes report MaxCLL levels, so I can force them with my processor if I want to take the time.

At least 4 had better "buddy" camaraderie even though the template was well blown up at that point.
The "template" is why Die Hard 2 is the weakest of the three - it's just the first movie again, but this time everything is way worse.

My Fandango app says that Die Hard will be shown in theatres for it's 30th anniversary this November. I wonder when the 4K disc is going to drop. I managed to hold off on any of the Die Hard blu ray releases, so this will be a nice addition to my collection.

Oh nice. Maybe that means full restoration going straight onto UHD, like what we got for Blade Runner and Close Encounters.

The script ultimately used was intended for a film entitled Simon Says, originally positioned as a Brandon Lee vehicle, and the character of Zeus was written with an actress in mind. Warner Bros. bought the script and rewrote it as a Lethal Weapon sequel. Warners later put the script in turnaround, only to be purchased by Fox and rewritten as a Die Hard film.[3]
