They did English credits, whereas the print I saw had them in Japanese with no translation whatsoever. Not even subtitles. Not that it is a reason to pick one over the other (credits mean little to me), but it shows that it may be a different print used. Because I remember the print looking way better than the FUNi BD. For all I know, maybe it's just they encoded it SO BADLY that it looked like a different print. Regardless, I felt it might be worth mentioning.

Just curious for anyone who has the Image/Umbrella/Manga BD- does it have the credits in Japanese or not?
The Image disc has Japanese credits.

You mean.....Sony, as that's who owns FUNI now. *Dodges old dvd's*

So basically, keep the old BD unless I want the better audio options, and any extras they made exclusive to this, and continue my quest for the DVD.

The Italian release by Dynit will have English subtitles and the English dub. F**k FUNimation, get this Dynit BD instead! It’s encoded by mp3dom, so it’s guarneteed to be the best transfer released until a UHD comes out.

Sadly, I think it’ll be Region-B locked, but still- 100% worth the import.

Not a steelbook.
I’m okay with my various releases until if/when the 4k action heats up.

Is this a new thing for Dynit, including English subs and audio?

I think so. Their stuff usually isn't English friendly.

Yes, but it's probably just a one time thing because the original Italian Sony DVD also had English sub/dub. I hope Dynit will pick up more Sony anime titles and release them with English subs.

Could someone list out the extras and their runtimes for the FUNimation Blu-ray? Cannot find reviews for the movie listing them.

Don’t have one, but if you’re wanting a release of the film, get the upcoming Dynit Italian release. Should be Region-B locked, though.

I'm pretty sure the Umbrella BD has all those same extras, aside from "English Voice Cast Reunion" and the two music videos, but it does have "Conceptual Art Galleries".

I’ll take your word for it, I wouldn’t know. Somebody asked, I have it, posted it, but don’t know what any other release has. You very well may be right.

I recently bought the Umbrella BD and watched some of the extras, so I thought I'd mention it.
Later this week I'll check it again and list the exact extras it has.

Funimation is notorious for adding English credits over the original ones. Just look at what they did to the TV series. I think they use some program to erase/remux them over; I doubt it's an actual difference in print. Every release I've seen from FUNi has this.

Despite what they say about reverse importation, I think that credits do matter. It's altering the original work. A bastardization is what I'd call it. Another reason not to get this release (along with the ghastly cover)
