Final Fantasy X/X-2 Remaster is currently the best port Nintendo Switch game for me. It felt really nostalgic.

Just started playing XII (for the first time). The last FF games I played were X and X-2 on PS2, so it's been a while. Enjoying it so far, though I can see why reception was originally mixed, since it's really unlike any other FF game that came before it.

We actually got a surprise FF game on Switch today with Final Fantasy Adventure on Game Boy as part of the Collection of Mana. Though the sequels drop the FF elements as they spin it off into its own series, and I would suggest you wait for the physical release happening in August (wish I had known about that, would’ve made the $40 price tag seem more reasonable).

Epic, definitely getting VIII as it's the only original FF I own after my eldest brother gave me it on Ps1 many years ago. I remember him playing it and I've still yet tog et around to playing X/X-2 I got on release week. May now wait and play VIII first.

Yeah, I’m totally excited to get a remaster of FF8, it was my first game in the series as well. Hopefully they add the extra features that the other PS1 FF games did (also the auto save after most rooms that IX did was perfect for portable play).

Finished up IX tonight; highly enjoyed the story and most main characters, primarily Dagger and Vivi. But I definitely won’t be replaying it as the actual gameplay is pretty clunky. Normal speed is dreadfully slow and sped up mode is way too fast to make either option really enjoyable.
Not sure where I rank it in the series yet; will need to think on that one some before I decide. |

It they do a US physical release, I’m definitely getting that despite having 8 digital on Switch, and 7 digital on PS4 and presumably getting a physical copy of the remake.
I did finish 8 about a week ago, and have to say how much I enjoyed the PS1 trilogy remasters, I wish Square would do things like that with more of this series (6 and 13 in particular would interest me) as well as other titles of the era (Parasite Eve, Chrono Cross, Xenogears, Vagrant Story, etc). |

Will FFX/ X-2 for Switch likely be discounted to $20 this Black Friday?

I didnt play Final Fantasy VII or even own a PlayStation until about four years ago, so I had already developed the nostalgia for the older Final Fantasies, the only ones I had played. However, that didnt stop me from enjoying this game, as I can see why many people look at it as their favorite. It would rank so much higher on my list if the localization werent so choppy.
Heres hoping to that remake everyone wants... |
