Yup, the 3D was great! Great sound mix too. This theater was rocking!

Just saw this tonight with the family. Really good movie. Miles Morales really grew on me. His character had heart and that's the one thing I was afraid he wouldn't have based on the trailers.

The animation was great but I that low frame rate jerkiness, that is an artistic choice I get it, bothered me and it took awhile to get used to. The art style was enough and didn't need that frame rate manipulation or whatever the hell they did.

The sound was amazing. This could be a 5 star atmos mix straight away if done right. That last act was a bombastic set that could give your subs a good workout!!!

Personally, I thought the frame rate manipulation made it stand out more.

For example, Peter Porker is animated on 1s (as in, a new drawing for every frame) like classical squash and stretch animation, and Peni Parker is animated on 2s (a new drawing for every 2 frames) like how anime is produced. Miles was animated mostly on 3s- adhering to Stop Motion, and occasionally on 1s and 2s.

But that's just me.

Oh, and that HDR. It'll be a real showpiece for the format if done right. (Venom has a preview of the film on the UHD in Dolby Vision, so perhaps someone who bought it could share how the preview looked in HDR?)

The theatrical sneak peek for this is on Venom's 4K UHD Disc. As expected, the visuals are incredible in 4K, and with HDR. I've watched the clip at least 5 times, since bringing the disc home. I can't wait to re-watch this jewel of a film, when it streets!

Maybe this will also come out within a 10-11 week window.. one can dream

Just got back from a 3D/Atmos showing. The 3D in this was incredible! I know it's not likely to happen, but I really want a 4K/3D BR combo pack, even if it's a store exclusive like GotG2.

Yeah this was the best Spider-Man film yet. Will likely get in 4k

Anyone know the AR for the home release?

Forgive me if this was stated in a page back... but my amazon order of this implies 'Delivery Estimate by February 19th.' Is that, then, the supposed release date right now?

Well, Venom hit 4K UHD just over 10 weeks after its theatrical release (Also from Sony).. If that date hold true, it'd be just over a 9 week window. In regards to Venom's release strategy, It seems like Sony wanted to capitalize on both the holiday sales season, and the public consciousness. I suppose it's not impossible, just be cautiously optimistic.

I'd pay double to have it in my hands right now. Movie was spectacular, and should be a visual feast at home.

Wife and I took my son to see this and we thought it was amazing. Definitely lives up to the hype. Will be a day one purchase. Not even waiting for a sale.

Awesome movie, instantly became one of my favorite superhero movies ever, and probably the best animated film Sony has ever produced. It was one of the few films I saw twice this year, first in standard, and again in IMAX 3D. The film has some really creative use of 3D, and while it’s not full of pop-outs, every shot is creatively framed for stereo and there’s plenty of depth and dimensionality. What’s really cool is how they balance 3D and 2D elements together on screen, I’ve never seen anything like it before.

I really hope Sony considers doing a 4K + 3D + 2D steelbook like WB did with Kong and Disney did with Guardians 2. This film will undoubtedly look amazing in 4K with HDR but it’s also a must own for anyone serious about Blu-Ray 3D as well.

Saw this the Other Day, I enjoyed it. I didn't exactly Resonate with this film so much, but the animation is unique enough to warrant a purchase from me though.

Amazon Italy listed their steelbook version and it's looks pretty sweet. The back is the same as the front of the Best Buy Canada exclusive.
