Found the Cloverfield trilogy release at a pawn shop for $2 today. I only needed Paradox, but for the price I couldn’t pass it up.

Just luck of the draw really. There are two pawn shops near me that I pop into every once in awhile. One sells them all for $2 and the other sells them for $2.50. It’s just about getting lucky with what they have when I go in.

I have know idea. I imagine they give folks $1 and sell them for $2. A pretty easy way to make a buck.

They probably bought it as part of “collection” and just price them to sell.

I wasn't exactly looking for this movie actively, but...

I was in a different Walmart today and spotted a single copy with slipcover for $9.

One nice bonus is the VUDU code for first Cloverfield, I never upgraded the DVD.

Even if this entry isn't a home run, great PQ & thundering Atmos should be worth it.

So I watched the movie and thought it functioned well enough as Sci-fi horror.

PQ & AQ are the very positive here and the sets and CG look very good, but...

The overall story and connections to the other movies seem somewhat tenuous.

Fortunately, YouTube comes to the rescue with multiple videos that examine everything.

There was a 4th movie in production, is that still the case?

That's because they took a script and retrofitted it to the Cloververse

For a while, Overlord was said to be a Cloververse film but then they announced it wasn't. They're supposed to be working on a direct sequel but they said that in April 2018 and that's the last I heard of it.

I found this 3 pack at a Big Lots recently and I’m wondering if I need to hang onto my 2 disc DVD set for the bonus disc with TJ’s video diary?

Paramount never reissued that extra on another other edition. The bonus disc can be found cheaply but there aren't many copies on the market.

That's just the Best Buy bonus disc IIRC. I put mine in a paper sleeve and put it in the tab things to hold it in place, and then got rid of the DVD version lol If it had it's own disc tray, I probably just swapped it out for a 1 disc case.

Didn't know that The Cloverfield Paradox got a physical release given that it's on Netflix. Too bad there's no 4K release.

I think I have a 5 disc Blu case I'm not using, I'll just put both discs in and make a mega edition.
