Remember when DVD first came out?

I bought an early model SONY for $499, still works to this day.

I still have my Panasonic A110. It was $400 at BB in '98.

I bought my first player in the spring of '98. I had had two DVDs for a couple of months (Twister, Fleetwood Mac - The Dance) that I would play on the systems at the consumer electronics store I worked at.

I know I bought one in 98 sometime, I cant recall the month now.

I first bought a Panny at Circuit City, it was open box for $299. I was STOKED! I bought Twister along with it. I brougt it home and hooked up everything but it wouldnt play the disc, would just show READ ERROR. I had gotten an new PC with a DVD-ROM drive a few days before and it played the movie fine. Went back to CC with it and they wouldnt give me a new one for the same price so I left empty handed. I was so disappointed.

The next day, Sunday, Target had a sell where if you bought a DVD player you got 2 titles for free! The player was $349 but the movies stickered for $29ea, so I figured that was a better deal anyway. So I got the player, Air Force One and The Game.

I ended up years later giving it to my parents.

My first DVD was a Creative Labs Encore kit for my PC. My first standalone was a Sony that cost me $400 from Crutchfield. It couldn't even read CD-R. My first movie was Trainspotting. Still have it.

I actually bought a GE players in 2001 for like 300 bucks.
