This is great news, and I want it. I'll probably wait for a standard edition because I really only care about the episodes, not packaging or extras. Although I think this edition is pretty awesome.

I wish they would tell us whether there will be a standard edition. I don’t want to hold off thinking there will be one only for the limited edition to go out of print without another release.

I just want a standard case.

Also, I don't know why they keep adding that "3rd" season like they do.

Either include all Scooby Doo episodes 1969-1979 (or 1980) or just release Where are You as the original seasons 1 and 2 and the other separate season sets.

The later 70s episodes lived under different names. I don't care. I just want the episodes and certainly not Dynomutt.

After checking yesterday morning and seeing this only existed on DVD, I ordered the whole set that way. Wake up this morning to find this! Can't decide if I should be mad, or just glad we're getting the Blu-rays.

I wouldn't be surprised if the original Powerpuff Girls is planned, especially since CN is still making the new show.

This makes me salivate. I remember seeing the complete series DVD set that came in the Mystery Machine box and lamenting the fact that I could never afford it. This, along with B:TAS, are my childhood encapsulated, and to have them both released within a year of each other is just pure nostalgic joy.

Powerpuff Girls miraculously made it to DVD a decade ago, although in giant packaging and flip discs. A Blu-ray release would be cool (although seasons 1-3 and part of season 4 were cel-animated and would need new scans), I would prefer ANY release of the rest of Dexter’s Laboratory and Johnny Bravo, even on DVD. Ridiculous that they’re still not on home video.

Completely missed this yesterday! My personal favorite of the Scooby series, and one that I’ve never owned officially. Will definitely grab the Blu-ray.

****. I just purchased the entire series on iTunes a month ago... I'll still pick it up, but I'm not in a rush.

It appears it took 6 years before WB finally released the series in a standard case on DVD. Might be a long wait. That should at least make this set reasonably priced. And it appears they have some sort of foldout digipak just for the discs themselves. Couldn't believe when I saw the email from WBShop this morning.

It'd be really great if they did the Mystery Inc seasons on BD too, being that they're already HD.

Nothing to do with the animation itself but even as a child I always thought the PQ of the cartoons were kinda poor, with dirt and other debris associated with film, so I wonder if Warner plans on cleaning these up. Unlikely, though. I'm not into cartoons much anymore but I may still grab this set. Don't need a collector's edition so hoping for a "regular" version.

They already did a gorgeous restoration in 2004, which was the source of the previous DVDs. Even if this release uses the same masters (as The New Scooby-Doo Movies set does), we should be in good hands. I also grew up watching the ancient masters being played on Cartoon Network (which Boomerang still uses) and used for VHS releases, and this restoration looks considerably better.

And the 25 Where Are You! episodes have better animation than the rest of the original Scooby franchise. It's hardly Disney quality, but it still looks great for a 50-year-old Saturday morning cartoon. Of course the backgrounds are absolutely gorgeous and the music is very memorable.

The season sets were out before the Mystery Machine set I believe.

Everyone that comes here needs to hurry up and buy this so it sells out and they announce a standard set like they did with Batman The Animated Series so I can get that one.

Also, I wonder how amazon is going to try to fit this into a bubble mailer?

Hopefully CN was forward thinking with its shows regarding HD. If Samurai Jack is any indication, maybe they were.

Then again, CN has been very derelict in getting out even shows we know for a fact were created in HD (Adventure Time, Regular Show, Steven Universe).

I've never understood when people say this. Season 3 released as Scooby Doo Where Are You? in their INITIAL broadcast, not as part of The Scooby Doo Show. Ruby and Spears intended to try a revival of Where Are You, but it didn't work out so they stopped using the WAY opening little more than halfway through the season.

It's being released as was intended by the creators of the show, as part of SBWAY.
