When I spend my money I like something physical to hold onto.

May the hard drives of all who oppose physical media meet an EMP.

I prefer physical, but in the end I would not really care assuming that DL can offer everything I want. The reason I prefer it are

1) physical has in the past and more importantly for the foreseeable future will be more powerful (i.e. we will be able to have higher capacity and BW, by the time the internet will be powerful enough to meet BD specs we will be up yto the next media that will be much better)

2)it is not as portable ( I went to my sisters for a few days for a new years eve party, I brought a box full of BDs 20-30, would I have been able to do is as easily if it was DL? How about people with portable players, that just before the road trip decide on the 2-3 disks to bring?)

3) I don't fully trust DL (i.e. the tether and direction it might take)

I love physical media and hope it never goes away. I would rather have HD-DVD than for downloads to become the norm!

Personally I love physical media, for me it's about the entire package. I love having a library with 600+ nicely organized cases on shelves around my room. I don't want to just live with streaming media or digital storage.

There is something about sitting down, looking at your library and then 20-30 minutes later grabbing the perfect movie that just peaks your interest, opening it up and popping it in the player. Maybe I'm weird and way off base, but for all of you with large media libraries, what is your opinion? Are you ready to get rid of all your DVD/BD cases in favor of digital storage?
I, myself, will always prefer physical media up to the foreseeable future. I know I am competent enough to work a computer for my basic computing needs and definitely do not want to be dealing with DRM, HDDs, Bandwidth Capability, Download Time, and Electricity costs for such time spent leaving computer on performing the download. In the end, I think physical media is cheaper and more reliable. I also like the transportability of physical media and not having to worry about re-downloading it on another person's computer, media playback device, etc.

Those are my thoughts on this.
