I understand the two from The Bodyguard being nominated - strong songs from Whitney at her peak, but all those Disney noms (and wins) in the 90s was taking the proverbial piss!

I remember seeing the film on VHS when it first came out, I was 13. Very good film, but the ending was so sad. For that reason I haven't watched it since.

There's nothing necessarily "sad" about the ending unless you consider the inevitability of people getting older and dying as "sad." It's just a part of life.

The fact that Dottie was able to see her friends when she was so hesitant to should be looked at as a positive. Not sad.

She did get a full page spread in Variety in honor of the song though.

I was just about to post on the wish list about my desire to have this movie on 4K, and had no idea it technically came out already as part of a box set.

I assume still no word of an individual release, I guess?

Nothing yet. You can check eBay as many sellers separate the sets, but it goes for $50+ on there. Really hope we get some sort of individual release at some point as this is such a beloved film. I don't even own the Blu-ray so I really want to add it to my collection.

Curious about this one. The town the movie was filmed in was my hometown. Madonna trashed it in the press during filming because it didn't have enough "nightlife / entertainment" for her tastes. I've no doubt my poor hometown will take a lot of additional grief in this book...

I thought the ending was good. After the world series the conversation between Dottie and Kit was kind of emotional. The saddest part in my opinion that gets me every time was the scene where Betty finds out she lost her husband. The whole not a name on the checklist. So sad.

Check Ebay for individual releases. Got mine when it came out for 35 with slip cover and 4K digital code. Worth every penny for such a great movie.

Probably wont happen for a while - i managed to obtain a copy of this and i have to say the atmos track on this was very good which surprised me for a movie like this - would defo pick up if it came as standalone though
