I loved The Last of Us, its one of my favorite games ever. I knew as soon as i read the leaks I wouldnt like the story, once I fully watched it I also knew I was right to not buy it. Id rather put my money towards Ghost of Tsushima instead & pretend The Last of Us ended after the first game.

Same! I bought TLOU on PS3 and the Remastered PS4 game. I have no interest in part 2 after seeing what they’ve done to the story. Ghosts of Tsushima will be my next purchase.

I don't know, I'm kind of a neutral opinion here and I don't see why people are hating the game so much just because it is a story they didn't want to hear. Non the less the story is progressive and everyone I have watched stream the game so far seems to have enjoyed it. Myself I am terrible at these type of games , I'm the guy that gets to that point and just continues to die over and over again because I am just not good at the must do this must do that type of gameplay games.

But I do enjoy watching them at times, especially streamers like Eli, but imo you guys who enjoyed the first game are missing out if you are boycotting this one because of them twisting up the plot lines. The same people have even said it themselves, the first game was the perfect conclusion to the story so why continue it, they closed that chapter imo for better or in this case for worse.

Time for a new one I guess......

Abby kills Joel, Ellie goes on a revenge quest, has a chance to finish off Abby at the end, Ellie let's her go. That is beyond stupid. Ellie kills tons of people on the way and finally has a chance to seek revenge for Joel and she let's his killer go...and also loses two fingers. Just plain awful.

Also, there's zero chance Joel and Tommy would trust Abby's group and be in that position to begin with.

Yeah, if it was a Hollywood movie it we be in the Uwe Boll camp of writing.
And something like 12% on RottenTomatoes….but because this is a video game--BRILLIANT 10/10.

Hey, friends. Maybe not a popular opinion about this. But I get what they were doing, I get why they clamped down on spoilers. And no, it has nothing to do with Abby kissing Ellie or anything like that. It's story structure. Ellie loses pretty much everything, even fingers...it's like The Godfather Part Two. I get it. Like Michael, yes, she "won" but by winning, lost everything, and is now in a void. So, sure, that's powerful stuff.

Guess what? That doesn't mean people are wrong for being pissed off, right? Look, when writers and directors know they are making a sequel product that is going to infuriate fans, that's on them, not the audience. You never ever blame your audience for not liking what you do. That doesn't mean you pander to your audience, but you have to encompass the self-awareness that what you're doing with your story might wind up with you behind a moat defending yourself from audiences with torches and pitchforks.

So is The Last Of Us Part Two the Godfather Part Two and a masterpiece? Or a consumer product guaranteed to piss off the consumers playing it? What would have been the smart play? Say what you want you to say, without infuriating your fan base? Maybe? More than one way to get that message across? Kinda dumb to go full misery?

What do I know. I'm just a simpleton. I am an unfrozen caveman. Your modern world frightens and confuses me.

It really bothered me that you had to play as Abby and for so long. It doesn't matter if she had a good reason. She killed Joel, the fanbase will never like her after that. I didn't care about the game as much when the story shifted to her.

I really loved the original TLOU. It is a 10/10 masterpiece.

I avoided all the major spoilers for TLOU2. I played the game for about 5 hours, then I ejected the disc, deleted the file, and then literally dropped the game in the trashcan, right were it belongs.

While the gameplay and graphics are good, the story is absolute garbage.

Don't waste a dime of your money or a second of your life playing this piece of shit.

Just be happy that you don't know anything about the game's production or how meta it is. TLoU2 is basically the game director's wet dream in shattering expectations by empowering minority groups so much that it suffocates the message. On top of that he even has added himself two times into the story by spitting on the former main character and then again as a trading card which goes into the detail why crusades this agenda of his.

While he denied the resembles of his alter-ego on twitter... it is still a valid reason to ask why does the character look like him? Could have changed the character design and nobody would have even said a word.

Guess we just have a fundamentally different definition of the term 'agenda'. To me there's no agena pushed in the game. There is nothing in the game that suggests anyone should or shouldn't agree with the mere existence of minority characters in the game. It doesn't try to move your opinion in any direction. If there were no minority characters in the game, and that happens too, that equally wouldn't make it an agenda game. The way I see it, there are just characters in the game that you don't often see and I'm cool with that.
