The UK set was out today, turns out the remastered discs are the old ones. Priced at £15, it's much cheaper than the US set, but it does list remastered discs on the box art.

Sorry, not sure I follow, do you mean the included BDs are identical to the existing ones and are not remastered?

Yes, sorry, our UK set was advertised as remastered (it's on the box), but they're the old discs with new disc art.

Got this yesterday. Checked part 1 & 2 discs. Both had the same transfer and vc1 encode as the 25th anniversary box set i own. Even the bitrates are identical.
Same main menu and same start up intro before you get to the main menu.

So Universal is pulling the old recycled transfer masquerading as new BS - how lovely. Going so far as to creating different artwork for the discs lol. Who's to say they did any work on the UHD versions? I assume the relative lack of feedback about this has something to do with the fact not many people know about it yet.

This is incredibly shady and now I'm also skeptical about these UHDs. Seems like they're pulling a fast one. They're more worried about selling limited edition ugly steelbooks then really giving these movies good transfers. I'm expecting the DNR & EE to still be prevalent after hearing this.

I wouldn't be surprised if this is just a screw up on their part and they accidentally pulled the 25th anniversary disc data when they did their pressing. Similar to what happened with Sony and the bonus disc of Lawrence of Arabia.

Is this regarding the US version? If so, that doesn't seem like good news, because the standard Blu-rays are also going to be included with the 4K version.

Man, that would suck if this was Predator all over again: remastered for UHD but still the same old transfer for the included and separate Blu-ray. I was hoping to pick up the new Blu-rays, not just for newly-remastered versions but also to replace my Digibook and big bulky "Complete Adventures" box.

Its the uk box set. The actual box says on the back newly remastered but these are the old transfers.

Well,,I'm getting this still because I damaged the Part 3 disk trying to get it out of that awful packaging the 25th anniversary came in and I'm afraid of damaging the other disks trying to get them out.So for me,this is still worth it even if it's the old transfers in the U.S.

Wonder if they'll do a replacement program for this release, like what they did with Psycho since they advertised the original Mono track when it originally didn't have it.

That's ridiculous if this is true. I bought the 4K set anticipating newly remastered Blu-rays since I don't have a 4K TV yet. Trying to prepare for when I do upgrade my TV. I thought I would get at least the remastered Blu-rays since it's getting a 4K treatment.

I'll keep my pre-order and wait for the reviews. Maybe Universal makes an announcement.

Pretty sure they are the exact same discs as found in the 30th Anniversary set as the disc artwork was updated for that release.

At present it’s only the U.K. Blu-Ray set that has been confirmed to contain the old discs, entirely possible they haven’t made the same screwup in the US and the Blu-Ray and UHD sets will include new remastered discs.
