you know, thinking about it more... i'm actually not sorry this article is posted front and center at HDD.

if a newcomer to that site, who isn't already a diehard fanatic of one side or the other, has ANY doubt whatsoever that HD DVD is ****ed - i think the matter should have just been settled in their mind.

ya know what i mean?

It is very sad that HDD sees this as news.

Better tech?

Is that why Uni will need help remastering most of what they've already released on HD because what's there now isn't good enough?

It's something new everyday from the HD DVD camp and I'm totally over it.
HDD and AVS Push FUD DUD ...The fanboys multiply crapping up forums with more FUD.

There is no control on these petitions, you can vote as many times as you want... just use different e-mails everytime. Not even sure they need to be legit.

I wonder how long it will be before HDD report the latest NPD player sales numbers.

After all it is news. And NPD are a reputable company, I believe.

Good question, wrong application. Out of the million HD DVD owners, those are the people keeping the system!

(Apologies to the purples of the forum.)

I've always thought HDD had a DUD bias.

Once a DUD lover, always a DUD lover with these people. They still cannot get over it.

Out of that 6000 I say 80% of the first few thousand signatures are Blu-Ray people posting funny anti-HDD messages. If I remembered correctly people on this forum were having too much fun that night when the petition came online.

Just read some of the stuff in the first 1000 petitions or so.

That is what really annoyed me about the whole thing. If they want to post a story every time an HD DVD fan belches as major breaking format war news, more power to them. It is the fact that there was not a peep of the equally ineffectual BD/Para petition back when it would have been news. The lack of reporting of the player sales numbers is even more galling. This is news, real news, and there was no report when the data was released and still no report when the unit number data was released.

The fact that the petition story has been sitting there on the front page while signifigant format war news breaks and is being discussed in other publications everywhere is just plain sad.

On a less serious note, how bloody long is the review of "Good Luck Chuck" going to be the featured review? I am so sick of encountering it there that I don't really care if the next featured review is an HD DVD review as long as that one stops greeting me every time I go to see if there is any real news there. I would even take a review of the video fireplace if it meant I never ran into that link again.

Isn't it amazing how many titles High Def Digest is pulling out of the HD DVD woodworks for review?

I mean, their bias comes shining through.

I sent them a copy of Face/Off on Blu-ray (UK) for review in October, and since then I have been told several times by Jed, the owner of the site, that they would be posting the review any day now. He told me that on November 13th, December 10th and January 16th. Now I can see I was made to look like an ass by sending it in the first place.

The whole idea was to allow them to do a review of both discs back in October when it came out. It has been six months since Kenneth reviewed the disc and sent it back to me.

Pretty unacceptable in my opinion.

You mean the HD DVD review of the 3 Stooges Meet Frankenstein import from Brazil?

Heheh. Wouldn't surprise me.

I hear you. I find myself spending less time there every week. Pretty much the only discussion you can get is with trolls like Fox2jk who are allowed to spread his crap threads with no repercussions at all. Or one of the many SUC, BD+ bad piracy good, or "Why isn't Blu-Ray taking over DVD yet?" threads.
