Well, it's disappointing, for sure, but I can live with getting another Terrence Fisher movie with Peter Cushing in it in this set since I don't have that one on blu. Wonder what happened with Devil-Ship Pirates?

Considering that Devil Ship Pirates is licensed from Studio Canal and they wouldn't license it to Indicator. All these titles are licensed from Columbia that's probably why.

Well then, no need for me to snap this up till I find a price I'm comfortable with paying.

There are a few more I want to see released on Bluray. She, The Viking Queen, Slave Girls, Devil-Ship Pirates, Creatures the World Forgot, Man Bait and Bad Blonde. And of course the Restored and Remastered...The Curse of Frankenstein. Hopefully coming in December ?

Well I have good news for you, this set has Creatures the World Forgot. I believe it's the sole 70s movie in the set.

Quick unboxing by Cereal at Midnight:

Watch from around 2:15 - 9:00 for the Hammer Films set.

Unfortunately, his review copy didn't come with the booklet to show.

Nice unboxing video of Hammer and Inner Santum. Must wait for a review of the PQ, especially for Revenge of Frankenstein.

Yes, and maybe it is just me, but (me thinking) with The Revenge of Frankenstein sort of the crown jewel in this set, I want to scream “Hey, just check Revenge. You opened the box -- Just check Revenge!!!”

Just a follow up: Revenge Of Frankenstein is not the 4K remaster. It’s the old Sony transfer. I wonder if Indicator retains the rights to that 4K transfer and funded it themselves. Similar to how Arrow has exclusive rights to their remasters.

No, Sony remastered it, Indicator just waited for it. Indicator have done their own restorations, but this wasn’t one of them.

I think Indicator only does some tweaking on (some) Sony restorations --

Their “First Men in the Moon” is a minor improvement over the already excellent Twilight Time Blu-ray, but it is slightly warmer -- I have both.

Either they have a newly tweaked master for “The Two Faces of Dr. Jekyll”, or they did some tweaks as it is better than the Mill Creek older 2-movies release -- Again, I have both.

They warmed up “The Curse of the Mummy’s Tomb” a bit, but I did not find that an improvement -- I will say that Indicator's compression is slightly better.

But, yes, Sony did the 4k restoration for “The Revenge of Frankenstein”, and why Mill Creek is not using it is a shame --

If it is the old transfer on the new 20 film collection, I would not buy that set. Others may feel different, but I feel that presenting such an excellent film in the old transfer is a cinema-sin when something far better is available.

I know this has dropped in price a good bit since it was first announced, but I want to keep holding out until after it's released to see if it ends up going lower. Or at a minimum, wait until it drops into a B2G1 sale at Target (though hopefully Target will lower the price to match Amazon's at some point, since they currently have it listed for $109.99!).

Yeah, to confirm, REVENGE is the same, blurry, un-restored transfer as the prior Mill Creek release. LAME, even though the disc itself is new (has a commentary and DTS MA instead of Dolby Digital).

Maybe we can heavily suggest to Mill Creek to do a stand alone edition for ROF later on with the new transfer. Just because I'm sure people will buy it (plus it's the only Hammer Frankenstein movie without a individual BD release in the US).

Were this the restoration of The Revenge of Frankenstein,
then I was going to buy this set for a friend and one for myself.

If this is correct, and it is not the restored, then I will avoid this set like the plague. It is a dishonor to Hammer Films, Cinema lovers, and classic horror fans to re-release this awful presentation of such a top notch Hammer Film.

Yeah, I already decided to buy the indicator releases of the 3 movies that interests me (Curse of the mummy's tomb, The Gorgon and of course Revenge of Frankenstein). They are region free and packed with extras, that seems like the better option now. I actually like Mill creek lately (love their Ultraman releases) so i'll just wait and if this ever get cheap, i'll grab a copy down the line.

Yes, because one bad transfer negates the NINETEEN OTHER movies being included.

This is still a great value for the cost.

My thoughts exactly! But I can still understand the disappointment that some people have, since the old transfer is very underwhelming.
