I'm pretty sure "Dune" will be absolutely amazing in 2D and wonderful with the 3D as the "whipped cream"
![]() Let's hope that "James Bond: No Time to Die" will also be released as a 3D Blu-ray! Then it will be another real "party" in the 3D home theater over the next few months! The black widow can also be admired in 3D via detours and Milla will soon be able to shoulder large stereoscopic weapons "Resident Evil like" ![]() |

![]() ![]() It`s a shame to see Disneys not releasing 3D discs, when you can see the high demand for every new title from other studios ![]() It is official: NO 3D disc from Disney for "Free Guy" in Germany! ![]() |

From what I read there are several scenes in the IMAX version in 1.9 and several in 1.43. So I wander how that will work out, if the Blu will only have 1.78 and 2.39. I mean specifically regarding the 1.9 scenes.

Ok, I was not sure how to read this tweet. It sounds to me that it would be something similar to what Michael Bay has done with Transformers 4 & 5, in that there were several different ratios.
https://twitter.com/JohnnySobczak/st...821439489?s=20 Additionally, in the below article it says: "According to Markoe, Dune will have sections in both of the aspect ratios (1.43:1 & 1.90:1), and Maverick will have sections in 1.90:1.)" Link: https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/mo...usive-4062214/ |

Today I have seen the movie in 3D in IMAX. It is really an epic movie with awesome costumes, settings, machinery (dragonfly-copters!) and spectacular desert sceneries. The IMAX-full-screen scenes in 1.43 format just look gorgeous. And Hans Zimmer's score sounds massive and outlandish.
Concerning the 3D I was rather underwhelmed: there are some good 3D scenes, faces appear more solid, but all in all the 3D effect is often rather mediocre. Would I prefer a 3D-Blu-Ray ? Definitively ! But other movies use 3D in a much more dedicated way. |

I should point out, however, having seen Dune with the French DCP (English audio but French subs), that Warner have translated all of the onscreen text. For example, the opening DUNE: PART ONE is instead shown as DUNE: PREMIÈRE PARTIE; and all of the location subtitles (e.g. Geidi Prime: home of the... etc) are in French text. Unfortunately, I'm pretty sure this will be what we get on the French discs (i.e. same situation as Sony's French releases of Spiderverse). |
