I don't currently have a sub to either, but in my experience the CR app has always worked way better then the Funi app. Plus, should definitely be cheaper then having a sub to both.

If you have an annual subscription to Funimation, they are saying to open a ticket. Other users are reporting that they will credit the remaining months to your associated crunchyroll account.

I'll just keep my Funi sub for the time being and then if there is a show on CR then I'll sub to that once it completes and the full season is on there. I wonder if they are just going to drop the Funi stream service all together.

That looks to be the plan.

One service. One subscription. This was inevitable and in the long run will be a good thing. Only hope layoffs aren't to harsh and physical releases continue which I expect it will.

We can hope, be nice if they each focus on their strengths, Crunchyroll streaming and Funimation putting out quick cheap physical releases.

What are they going to do with digital copies that come with titles? I know it won't happan but it would be nice if we could get them moved to amazon, itunes or vudu. you know a functional streaming site. crunchy roll and funimation are both horrible.

I have hated the Crunchyroll AndroidTV and Fire TV apps. H A T E!!!

It automatically logs me out every other week.

No matter what I do, I get automatically logged out every 7 to 10 days. Re-entering my log in credentials via the on-screen keyboard is a friggin pain in the behind.

I stop my subscription last year due to this show-stopping issue.

Please tell me they have, or will, fix this; or am I the only one who experiences this?

Side note, the best Anime streaming service app I've used was the Australian AnimeLab app.

Absolutely blew the Funimation one away, and I also found it much better than the Crunchyroll app.

Such a shame that the AnimeLab service and apps were killed. That should have been the app that went worldwide under whatever name Sony wanted. It was the best app.

VRV and Funimation apps work fine on the cheap Fire TV 4K. I hope Crunchyroll will be the same.

Still happens. Seems to be tied to use. Like if I don’t use the app every few days it does it ,but if I use it regularly it does not. Roku, Android, and fire. Don’t know if it’s that way on other platforms. They used to give the option of a code to register devices ,but they seemed to implement this during the last big update to make it a pain to share the account with others.

So are AnimEigo and Media Blasters the only old school anime labels still in their original(ish) form now? Seems like an end of an era.

Technically Harmony Gold too, I guess, but they don't really do anything and they don't publish their own home releases.

Really sad to see all this going down. I was locked into the old price of 6 a month for Funimation and just cancelled my subscription. Not moving over to Crunchyroll, almost double the price for no actual benefit to me.

I was also locked into Funi's good tier that saved me money when I bought stuff on their site and gave me free shipping. Not moving to CR either.

$80 a year for an insane amount of anime is less than two Funimation releases. Sounds like a good deal to me. It's still one of the cheapest subscriptions out there.

If someone doesn’t want to use their Crunchyroll coupon, please let me know.
