There is no evidence I’ve heard for some kind of digital mandate, merely that most of the movies are shot digitally because that’s now the common movie making format.

I don’t necessarily believe Nolan would make a Marvel movie, but if he did, he would definitely be allowed to shoot on film.
Black Panther was not shot on film.

Never said it was. I said that they initially were planning on shooting it on film, but the cinematographer decided the budget increase wasn’t worth the visual difference (I posted the interview where she says this).

The point is Marvel would’ve allowed them to shoot it on film, so it’s a non issue with Nolan (now there may be legit issues with Nolan and Marvel, but not this)

The after credit scene with Winter Soldier in Black Panther was put into the movie because Cooglar wanted it. He (Cooglar) wasn't mandated to include it. He was given the freedom to do what he wanted. Cooglar at the time had three movies under his belt compared to Nolan who has a string of blockbusters. Marvel would give Nolan freedom, no doubt about it.

I agree. I don't think Marvel would allow him to make a "Nolan movie with a Marvel twist", but a "Marvel movie with a Nolan twist". Of all the unique directors and visions we've seen in the MCU, the only one who dropped out is Edgar Wright. Unfortunately he did it when Marvel was finding it's vision and becoming more unique. It all depends on the Marvel plan now.

Oh I see. The way I took "nearly completely shot" was that the vast majority of it was. My bad

It's a small scale film and not a spectacle one.

Anyways, if you hate Nolan and you disliked any film and you don't like his writing despite him having TWO Oscar nominations for it, and his directing.. why are you here?

You like Marvel, fine and you'll see a different director than him directing a good popcorn flick. Isn't this a good thing?

He lives in such a complete fantasy land that nothing about this would matter.

Nolan has an awesome hit MCU movie = He went in there and took control and told Feige to shut it.

Nolan has a poor MCU movie = It's because Feige put restraints on him!

I'm pretty sure that Nolan does not need to be hired by a company. He has his own rules and decides what to do, and isn't an hack who works "In hire" like most of MCU "directors".

If he directed a film for the MCU, it would have been better all the 23 MCU films, combined.

I just don't see it happening, but who knows I guess.

The money is with Marvel and Disney, but what creative freedom would he have?

I'm not overly knowledgeable on Marvel, but I guess he could do someone like The Punisher?

I'll take the "directors" work over Nolan easy.

And I like Nolan.

you're acting like the MCU is directed by a bunch of nobodies

Directed by a bunch of talentless hacks.

One of the best director of this decade vs yesmen directors.

How can we compare the two? One writes his scripts, he takes care of everything in his movies, the one you mentioned do only what Disney asks them to do, not to mention their lack of talent for directing, style or set pieces.

Nolan stomps anything Marvel, comic or otherwise.

Apparently opinions are "nonsense" for you?

I just stated my opinion, like anyone else in this board.
