Dune 4K UHD (1984)

I have such a weird relationship with this movie. I actively dislike it, but I've seen it a dozen times. I also have every plan on buying this up (Limited Edition).

It's an absolutely glorious and beautiful mess of a film. I've held off on buying it because of the rumors around this Arrow release, and I'm happy to spend real money to get it on my shelf.

I love it, warts and all. Checks a lot of boxes for me: Lynch, SciFi, nostalgia, cool cast, book I love, etc.

I really like some aspects of Dune; Lynch nailed the mystical, messianic aspect of the story, something I doubt Villeneuve can pull off. A shame we won't be having a new cut of the film.

I’m not loving the cover art of the Limited Set, I’m sure poster Art will be on reverse insert but was hoping for better cover art.

That's very true. But they will not succeed in making me take two editions of this film. I did that for Robocop and The Thing, that's enough (I know, I was insane).

Oh please do not have Dune be some region locked BS. Especially the steelbook, assuming it has the bonus disc as well.

The LE is rather cool but likely will be priced much too high for my taste.

Yay! Nice to have the images and details! I love this movie and have been eagerly awaiting
any news. I don't think I'll be able to decide between the limited edition packaging and the steelbook. Too bad the steelbook doesn't seem to have all the goodies like the True Romance one. Also a bit disappointing if they've dropped the extended TV cut, though I own that German release that includes it in HD.

I still love my copy of the DVD steelbook and will probably still hold onto it.

Probably the steelbook art
