I've given up trying to keep up with all things Superman. There are so many comics, numerous shows both animated and live-action, etc. I've kind of wanted to check out the version with Dean Cain.

Just a little update.

Two weeks ago I got my copy of The Flash Season 8 and it was a slipbox. My copy of Titans Season 3 came in a week and half ago and it's also a slipbox. My copy of Doom Patrol Season 3 just came in a few minutes ago and it's a slipbox as well.

So why Superman & Lois was changed to a traditional slipcover.I don't know.

We'll see what Peacemaker Season 1 comes in when it comes out later this month.Slipbox or slipcase?

It's not BBC's fault for a DVD only release, they just have the rights to broadcast it on TV. WB are the distributors for the physical release.

Now why they only opted for DVD's in the UK is beyond me. We've consistently gotten most of the DCTV shows on the Blu-ray format but now it looks like we won't get Stargirl Seasons 2 or 3 released here at all, Doom Patrol & Titans Season 3 seem to be DVD only as well.

Top of the case... outwards? How do you know what's what?

The top of the slipboxes basically mirror the spine, so you could lay them flat and have the top facing outwards and stack them on top of each other.

Ohhh, I hadn't realised they were talking about slipboxes - assumed they were just stacking all their Blus, regardless of packaging or case, with the top the only thing facing out

I just got seasons 1 & 2 of this in yesterday. I want to start watching it but I don't know how much is ties into Supergirl. I haven’t finished that show just yet and I don't want to spoil anything for myself.

It doesn't tie into Supergirl at all.

It was supposed to tie-in to Supergirl but due to the pandemic preventing crossovers and wanting to do their own taKe on things,in the end of season 2,they retcon the show and reveal Superman & Lois is set on a different earth from Earth Prime where all the other Arrowverse shows are set post Crisis.

Other then Tyler Hoechlin and Bitsie Tulloch as Superman/Clark and Lois, the only returning actors for guest appearances are Jenna Dewan as Lucy Lane and David Ramsey as Diggle. But they are different versions of their characters on the other Arrowverse shows. Lucy for example has a totally new backstory from Supergirl. With Diggle, you can sort of tell in Season 1 that being set on a different Earth was not the original plan.

Other then these, the characters who were introduced on Supergirl are all recast with again, new backstories.

So where the heck is the announcement for Season 3 on Blu-ray? The season finale aired three months ago.

I believe the UK DVD (they're not doing Blurays anymore over there IIRC) comes out December 18th - for season 3.

I assume by early October we'll get word on a release of this and Gotham Knights. HOPEFULLY not DVD-only in Region 1 like Stargirl's 3rd season... although it would be funny if GK got a bluray release but not Stargirl's final season.

Per Amazon, it looks like the UK DVD release has been pushed back to February 19 (you are right that it was originally in December).

I wonder if Max might not be the culprit here. I believe I have read that the show does very well on there, and they may be playing that annoying game where they delay a physical release in order to have a longer streaming exclusive window.

Sorry! I want L&C too. I mean, they've already done an HD version for streaming, so why not dump it on disc also and make some more $$? Seems like a no-brainer.

But I'm increasingly pessimistic since the show's 30th anniversary just passed, and still no word on a Blu-ray set.

We're still waiting on news about a physical release for Superman & Lois Season 3 but it's now official. Superman & Lois will end with the upcoming shortened 10 episode Season 4.

‘Superman & Lois’ to End With Season 4 at the CW

By Selome Hailu

The upcoming fourth season of the CW‘s “Superman & Lois” will be its last. The series’ final ten episodes are set to air in 2024.

Without “Superman & Lois,” only three shows from before Nexstar’s acquisition of the CW will remain on the network: “All American,” “All American: Homecoming” and Walker.” The conclusion was expected, however, as DC Studios heads James Gunn and Peter Safran indicated to press in January that they expected the series to run for “one or two more seasons.”

“Superman & Lois” premiered in February of 2021 and stars Tyler Hoechlin as Clark Kent aka Superman and Elizabeth Tulloch as Lois Lane. The cast also includes Alex Garfin as Jordan Kent, Michael Bishop as Jonathan Kent, Alexander Erik Valdez as Kyle Cushing, Inde Navarrette as Sarah Cushing, Wolé Parks as Henry Irons, Tayler Buck as Natalie Irons Sofia Hasmik as Chrissy Beppo, Chad L. Coleman as Bruno Mannheim, Dylan Walsh as General Samuel Lane and Emmanuelle Chriqui as Lana Lang Cushing.

Greg Berlanti and Todd Helbing developed “Superman & Lois” based on the characters from DC created by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster. Helbing serves as co-showrunner with Brent Fletcher, and both executive produce alongside Berlanti, Sarah Schechter and Geoff Johns. The show hails from Berlanti Productions in association with Warner Bros. Television.

“Over the last three seasons, SUPERMAN & LOIS redefined both the superhero genre and family drama as Tyler, Elizabeth and the entire cast effortlessly portrayed these classic characters with new layers of depth and complexity that had never before been explored in the Superman universe,” said Brad Schwartz, president of entertainment at the CW Network. “We are grateful for the years of hard work and graceful storytelling from the show’s writers, producers, actors and crew, as well as our terrific partners at Warner Bros. Television and Berlanti Productions. As Superman embarks on his final flight, the team is leaving us with an absolutely epic 10-episode must-watch-every-minute farewell to one of the most legendary CW families ever.”

“While we’re sad to say goodbye to SUPERMAN & LOIS at the end of Season Four, we’re grateful for the time we’ve had with our amazing cast, crew, vfx teams, editors, musical geniuses, and writers. Since the day this show was first discussed, it was about family. And that’s what was created—on and off screen,” said showrunners Todd Helbing and Brent Fletcher. “We’d like to thank our partners at Berlanti Productions, DC, WB and The CW for their endless support and enthusiasm during this journey…and give a very special thank you to all the fans for tuning in. We’re thrilled about what we have in store in our final season, and can’t wait for everyone to watch as Superman, Lois and all our heroes face off against the biggest threat in the show’s history—Lex Luthor.”

Sorry if bumping this thread got anyone's hopes up, but I just wanted to note that the Amazon UK DVD listing for season 3, originally with a release date of December, then bumped to February, has now been pushed back to JUNE. And still no word at all on any US release in any format.

WTF is going on here???

I think it's still to early to worry. They usually don't release the previous season untill the new season air and we still don't have a air date so nothing to worry about just yet. Worse case it's a dvd release at most
