Slightly off topic, but why no H20 4K announcement? A rights issue perhaps?

I like Part 6. I think the ending leaves a lot to be desired -- made even worse in the Producers Cut (IMO) -- but I like that Halloween actually looks and feels like Halloween. Parts 1–5 will seem incomplete without 6 and H20.

One of my most despised sequels of all time! hard to believe this piece of shit sequel is getting a 4K restoration and UHD 4K, sometimes you can't polish a turd. I enjoyed Halloweens 1 to 4 and gonna get those UHD 4Ks but this is not gonna go anywhere near my UHD 4K collection, it's bad enough i have it in my Halloween 2014 boxset from Scream Factory.

I don't expect we'll ever know for sure, but I suspect they didn't quite understand what dailies are. It's very possible (even likely?) depending on their 1989 workflow that these don't even have audio.

The Dr. Death scene was discarded while the film was still in production, so it was never actually assembled together. That would seem to be fine? They can edit & assemble it themselves or present it as an outtake reel. At the time they were searching, HalloweenMovies posted this photo I'm attaching. It's unclear where they are - maybe the storage room of Trancas. If so, there would seem to be a lot more boxes and footage to go through and more to be found. Even if the Dr. Death scene wasn't assembled, there's likely other scenes that did make it into an early cut, before being killed for pacing or by the ratings board. The photo with the Dr. Death label was probably the most promotable, though. |
