The poster and earlier delivery are two I can think of.

You both have valid points! Sticking with my preorders then.

Thanks for the heads up!

I'm gonna wait, that's an insane price for a standard 4k movie imo. I swear there is a trend lately of these prices slowly going up. I was in Target the other day and I saw Willy's Wonderland standard blu ray for $29.99, what!? SHould be about $20 max for a regular blu ray and no more than $30 for a 4k especially if it's just a standard plastic case.

Wow that's ridiculous. I wonder if this will be available in physical stores.

Ooooh!

I'll wait to see what the new footage is, but the film always felt like it was holding back some, so I'm really rooting for some unnecessarily nasty gore or violence, haha.

Sorry, blood nerd here.

When Krampus came out, I had my middle-schoolers open our Xmas show at my middle school with a Krampus skit and totally forgot the elementary kids were invited to watch every year.

Those poor kiddos... And so, so worth it.

I loved this movie, but I wonder what the restored/additional content will do for it. I wasn't a fan of Trick r Treat because I thought it was uncomfortably vicious, especially the depiction of special needs children. I was pleasantly surprised that Krampus practiced some restraint, which ended up being more enjoyable as a result. I hope the extra content doesn't ruin the experience for me. I'd love to watch this in HDR though, the Christmas scenery should really pop in 4k.

I wish Universal were handling the whole thing themselves because then we would probably get digital copies included with the 4K releases which Shout/Scream Factory don't provide.

That's honestly disappointing. As intriguing as an unrated cut of this might be, including the theatrical cut of any movie should be standard.

While I agree, adding an additional 4K disc with the theatrical cut would drive up dat cost. Sure, seamless branching is a thing, but we don't know just how different this new cut is. They could have also had the standalone "Naughty Cut" and an ultimate edition with both cuts on 4K, but we don't know about the logistics of that. For instance, they might only be able to order batches of, say, 10,000 per 4K disc through the replication plant. Suddenly, they'd have to order double the amount of the Naughty Cut to pair with the TC, and take an even bigger financial gamble.

The original cut is still a mean little movie for pg13, so this new cut should be awesome.

I really like Krampus, but I'm not sure I can spend $30 for this release, especially since the theatrical cut won't be included. I guess it'll come down to opinions on the Naughty Cut and the PQ/AQ.

I love the original poster art on my German Steelbook. I even use the front and back of the U.S. slipcover, in place of the J-Card. I'll definitely be holding onto it, when I upgrade to the 4K release.
