Looks good in hand (picked it up at BB today)! I'll just throw a 4k disc in it if it ever happens. I don't own this on any format so glad to own this nice steelbook at a decent price.

Exactly. That is the main reason why I purchased this steelbook and also the love for the movie and steelbooks but this is one of Paramount's most well known movies. It will at some point get a 4K UHD release and I like it enough to get to throw a possible 4K disc in if it ever happens.

If a 4K disc ever happens my guess is they will just reuse this steelbook for a 4K steelbook along with regular edition.

Really-a 4K?

Most of us would be happy with some of the missing scenes and a solid transfer.

I would prefer a 4K UHD but I would also be happy with an improved BD with a 4K remaster. Obviously Paramount with this steelbook release it was a missed opportunity for a 4K remastered disc as it's the same release. I like this steelbook though and glad they put it out.

Maybe when the remake comes out with Will smith in it they will give us a nice new transfer.

That steelbook was made for a 4K disc throw in. Hopefully Paramount does a UHD/BD I'll just swap both discs. The reality is though they would likely repackage the new discs in this steelbook. If they don't though glad I got it since it's all ready for a new UHD/BD.
