Finally caved and ordered this off Amazon.ca as it just dropped to $19 CAD. Excited to check it out, based on the comments here and the screenshots on CAH, this sounds like it got an excellent encode. Surprising coming from Paramount.

Not only an excellent encode, but also mostly free of their infamous DNR

I didn't wanna say completely free because certain moments did look "managed", but it's a significant upgrade over the 2006 master in every way

Another fact that makes this release an anomaly is the mono track isn't a downmix or anything, it's the original authentic mono mix (the remix has new sound effects which the mono track included does not have)

I feel like a thief, I found this at a used game shop last night for 7 bucks. The also had the earlier 2007 release for 4 bucks. What are the odds a used media store would have both versions of Reds on Bluray. Happy I found this though and at that price too!

It's one of the best looking blurays ever made as far as video transfer goes.
