Oh it comes with a Blu ray, so I guess that makes the Scream Factory release completely pointless unless it’s not remastered

Please fix the audio. The blu-ray has the Matrix effect. Low center channel.

Scream disc still has over thirty-five minutes of exclusive interviews.

I picked up the 2010 Blu-ray used a couple of years ago, so this upgrade won’t be that big of a deal. Awesome stuff!

Looks like the good Doctor is revealed (center of eyes pupil) when the sleeve is removed, as it is on the actual steelbook!

The zombie hands are stupid and don't belong, and it would have been better without the eyelashes, but the rest of it looks good.

I'll absolutely grab the steelbook, even though I'd prefer an amaray, glad I held of on the SF and this will have the Paramount extras.

Some of the interviews are very redundant from the old commentary and documentary. There's maybe one or two that are worthwhile if you really need to learn more about the film's sound design or art direction. Otherwise, the archival DVD documentary and bonus features covered so much already that little could be added by Scream Factory. Also, most are recorded over Zoom with some questionable A/V quality. The Jack Noseworthy interview is nearly unwatchable because it's so choppy.

The new scan is superb, though. Definitely worth upgrading without question as they also fixed the vertically stretched image from the old master. The only shift here is that Scream Factory had DTS-MA 5.1 while Paramount uses Dolby TrueHD 5.1, but for a 4K disc, I'm sure the TrueHD will have further room for more bitrate.

However, since I traded in a bunch of stuff at the time of buying the Scream Factory release, I only paid $8 for it. So, no sweat for me to upgrade to the 4K.

I think it is likely the included blu-ray will be the same as the original 2008 blu-ray.

Yeah, it looks good on paper to have that extra stuff of the Shout but the OG features are superb and will do me just fine. For something like Escape from LA there's no way I'm giving up the Shout, but for EH then eh.

Not zombie hands.
Creepy cover.
The eye/machine/black hole looks cool to me!

Movie freaks me me out whenever I watch it. Thus I have to have it.

Yeah, one day I'll have to bite on Escape From L.A. I haven't watched it in like 15 years, but it was starting to grow on me back then. I've only had the old non-anamorphic DVD, so, I'll have to buy it or forget it altogether soon. Only reason I didn't bite already is because we didn't get a coveted Carpenter / Russell commentary track.

Thrilled that this is finally dropping on 4k uhd disc. It was really starting to chap my asss that the sweet 4k was streaming-only. What an insult. This is a no-brainer.

The Shout disc is a must own, let's be real you already have it if you love the film. Just like Escape from LA I'm skipping this 4K on media (well, until it's $9.99), but I'll pick it up on streaming. I'm very happy with my disc, which just came out last March! Not gonna eject it for a new set so soon. And yes it does have exclusives, so if you're a superfan you'll keep both anyway (I'm only a fan, "Soldier" on the other hand...), so the remastered Blu Ray is fine by me

Cover art is pretty bad in my opinion. I don't really know what that's even referencing in the movie

I thought Paramount weren't doing 4K+BD combo releases anymore. It's so weird that not only are they including the BD, they went the extra mile and re-mastered that as well.

That being said, I don't think this will get too wide of a release outside US, probably UK and AU and that's about it (if even those).

A bit late to the party but super stoked for this release! I'm not sure why I held off on the SF release, but I guess it worked out even though I still want it for the exclusive extras. Interesting artwork though.

Yeah, just noticed that they're remastering the Blu too! That's a nice development but, at the very real risk of sounding like a churlish mofo, it's already been released on remastered Blu by Shout so it seems to be wholly redundant in this case, while something like The Untouchables doesn't appear to be getting a remastered Blu to replace the current piece of chit Blu. Huh.

It looks like the artwork was designed by Lucio Fulci
