Of all the thought I had watching this, "I wish this was longer" was not one of them.

Yeah, the prologue would definitely be among the reinserted footage, if that extended cut becomes a thing.

Had a blast watching this. Is it as good as the original? Definitely not. But it was still a blast. The sense of adventure and wonder were very nicely captured. And it was a treat watching the original cast again. The directing, acting, special effects, pacing, were top notch imo.

Right? I'd be all in for an Abbreviated Cut.

I pre-ordered the multi-format edition just now.

Which version will you get?

All the Godzilla & King Kong movies from the 60's onward had no problem with massively scaled animals in the 2.39 ratio. Not to mention now we know dinosaurs like Tyrannosaurus did not walk upright with their tails dragging. They're longer than taller - perfect for the widescreen frame. The raptors are roughly human height as well so there isn't a problem there either - and a lot of the dramatic confrontations between man vs. beast in these films were between people & raptors. JW:LK looks great. These are BIG SCREEN films. Not TV movies.
Not gonna lie. I'm glad that these Jurassic Park/Jurassic World films are science fiction/action-adventure and not documentaries, cos i would truly hate to have a real interaction with a loose velociraptor.

When I bought the Limited Edition Blu-ray Trilogy set several years ago, it came with a T-rex barging through the famous King Kong-like Jurassic Park main entrance gates.

It really is!

I don't mind raptors in the movies, but if I'm going to have a JP disc release with any collectible, I prefer a T-rex figurine to a raptor.

Are there any exceptions to this? Sure. If Universal/Amblin released a Collector's Edition with a replica of the T-rex-raptor confrontation at the end of Jurassic Park, I 'd go for that.

Kyle already pointed out the "loose" thing, so I'll refrain from joking about that.

Fun fact though, you probably wouldn't have much to fear from an actual Velociraptor. *Pushes up nerd glasses*

Quoting Wikipedia:
Quote:
Velociraptor was a mid-sized dromaeosaurid, with adults measuring up to 2.07 m (6 ft 9+1⁄2 in) long, 0.5 m (1 ft 7+1⁄2 in) high at the hip, and weighing up to 15 kg (33 lb), though there is a higher estimate of 19.7 kg (43+1⁄2 lb),[21][22] and an even higher estimate suggesting a length of 2.5 m (8.2 ft) and a body mass of 25 kg (55 lb).
The Velociraptor of Jurassic Park is actually based on Deinonychus, another species from the dromaeosauridae family. The name Velociraptor is used because A) there was a short-lived debate in the '80s about whether Deinonychus should also be renamed Velociraptor and B) because both Michael Crichton and Steven Spielberg decided it was the cooler, catchier name.

Where it all gets even messier is that Dominion introduces two new species of raptor: Atrociraptor and Pyroraptor. In real life, both of these were about the same size as Velociraptor, but are similarly oversized for the film.

I just watched that on YouTube over the weekend. It was cool and all, but it made no sense.

In what way doesn't it make sense? Because of the usual dino nerd complaints about it mixing different species of animals that lived in different times and places in real life?

I just accept that stuff as this being the Jurassic Park universe's version of prehistory, which differs from the real one.

If this is the complete list, the lack of deleted scenes could be a good sign. Could point to an extended cut being more likely.
I was thinking the same thing about an extended cut. Dewanda Wise mentioned it in an interview and if you read between the lines in some of Colin Trevorrow’s interviews about it he also seems to be hinting at the same.

Yeah, Trevorrow definitely seems to be hinting at it, not just in interviews but he's also 'liked' a few tweets from people requesting/asking if there will be an extended cut.

Certainly, the desire seems to be there on his part. I guess it comes down to whether or not he'll get the green light from above.
