Perfect, haha.
Yeah they look good but that’s just not accurate. It’s obvious they’ve been tinkered with way too much, there’s way more grain in the Lionsgate 4K and the only reason the Shout possibly wins is because of colour. |

They haven’t been “tinkered with”. The new remasters are excellent. It’s just the compression that could’ve been better.

The 4K mastered Blu-ray of Fatal Attraction, followed by a 4K UHD of Fatal Attraction, is a double dip, and everyone who bought one under the assumption that no native 4K copy was coming got burned. Didn’t Paramount at some point say that the Paramount Presents line was going to be all 4K mastered Blu-rays and no native 4K discs? |

I think it’s pretty funny that according to Glenn Close the first ending (the alternate ending) made Alex look “self-destructive” and the second ending (in the final cut) made her look like a “psychopath”.
As if everything else didn’t make her look like a psychopath. |

It also does bother me somewhat that Michael Douglas' character [Show spoiler] After all, he was the assh*le with a wife and kids who decided to have a one night stand with another woman. He essentially wanted to have his cake and eat it too. He's a terrible father and husband. And don't get me wrong, I'm in no way advocating for the film to be "cancelled" or anything of that nature. Absolutely not. I love the movie, it's a classic '80s thriller, but it's not without its faults and I totally understand the criticism the film often receives regarding its treatment of Alex and mental illness. ~Matt |

Saw the movie when it first came out but don't remember a lot of it besides the plot and certain scenes. Was it the adultery or other displays of neglect/lack of affection/etc. that made him this terrible father?

Ya he is the one that spills his drink on Dan's lawyer buddy when they are in the Japanese restaurant at the beginning of the movie. James Eckhouse is in the scene for a few seconds at most. But you can tell it's him.

Would you extend the same sympathy to other movie psychos like Hannibal Lecter? Or Max Zorin from A View To A Kill? I don’t think Dan is a ‘terrible father and husband’, he deserves condemnation for playing away one weekend but he feels terrible about it, owns up, and doesn’t go grovelling for forgiveness - he accepts his punishment from his wife, and more than pays for his betrayal with the terrorisation he undergoes from Alex. Also, prior to his indiscretion he was clearly a top rate father and husband, and no doubt he’ll continue to be so once his wife forgives him, albeit forever tainted by the memory of what he did. Let’s keep the morality in this film in perspective. A one-off cheater isn’t even in the same moral universe as the violent, bunny-boiling, sociopathic home-wrecker he fell victim to. 2. His wife knows he cheated. Probably not the first time, probably not the last. 3. His daughter knows he cheated. As a kid who watched both parents cheat on each other, I know she lost a lot of respect for her father in this one. 4. The bunny is his daughter’s bunny. Good luck explaining that one. 5. No cops are helping him, so he has to feel the pain and fear and stress that comes with being stalked and harassed. 6. The news inevitably got all around town, so this “respected gentleman” will be the laughing stock of the town by the time it’s over. 7. He ain’t gettin’ none after this. He got his. |

Even though, Fatal Attraction is only a movie but in real life, adultery is a sin, and it can lead to serious or fatal consequences in the end. Is it worth the risk of losing your family, home, finances from paying alimony, child support for just a few minutes of pleasure? A one night affair can ruin your whole life, but married men and women who cheat doesn't think about the repercussions of their infidelities. Dan (Michael Douglas) cheated on his wife, and look what happened. Sex is not only physical, but also emotional, and it'll only take just one time for that person to becomes emotionally attached and develop feelings, especially for a woman.
