I was stunned by how great this film is (having not seen any of these ITLOD films before). Definitely the best in this series and to be honest one of the best HK action films from the 80's (that I've seen).

The action is relentless and barely lets up throughout the runtime. Yes the plot is a bit rubbish (most of these type of films are let's be honest) but the fight scenes are extraordinary. What I really liked in this film is that there is much more hand to hand combat vs gunplay. The action/fight scenes with the motorbikes are awesome too.

The last fight on the building rooftop, just wow. Extremely hard hitting and just when you think it's over, it just carries on some more.

Ran through all four ITLOD movies plus all extras this week and I have to say this is definitely the best one. It's one of those movies that is just textbook 80s HK action cinema.

I really liked the crazy action and fight sequences in ITLOD4... amazing for just sheer action... Donnie Yen was superb.

I have just watched my copy and I have to concur. Some fantastic and brutal action. Just check out the welts and bruising that you can see coming up on Michael Woods' left arm in the roof top fight with Donnie Yen.

Speaking of Donnie and his 'super hero' abilities, do they include vampiric healing abilities? Having been shot in the left arm in the first half of the film, said arm does not even have a scratch on it in the second half of the film. This is most obvious in the scene in the church with Cynthia Khan and Yat Chor Yuen.

Anyway, not withstanding the continuity error, I thoroughly enjoyed this.

Bullets bounce off Donnie Yen. True fact.

Finished watching my copy I got from Eureka, given this was my 3rd viewing since HKL DVD days I was hoping I'd appreciate it more but as a movie it felt more like a reel of action scenes which can get tiresome as I prefer a combination of a good story & action

At least its amazing to watch how effortlessly Cynthia & Donnie can kick though, the PQ was flawless

Haven't started on the special features yet but I've also got Supercop lined up

This was a first time watch for me and it flew by, very entertaining genre fayre. I really enjoyed the four leads, not a lot of nuance or development but the shifting dynamics gave some narrative momentum. Fight sequences were very plentiful. Loads of h2h combat and weapon work, pretty bruising action and breathless stunts. No, Cynthia doesn’t have the same charisma or chops as Yeoh but she's very likeable and her fighting skills seem pretty refined. A great, fairly mindless slice of HK action.

Blind buy on this and the entire set. The fighting in this was insane. I now feel educated that Donnie Yen did the dirtbike kick before Van Damme. The last fight on the roof was unreal, with the planes landing in the background felt like a stage in a fighting game. This entire thing was like a videogame basically, when dude is rolled up in the flag at the end it was just the cherry on top. I thought Cynthia's stunt work in this was way more obvious than III, which I think was my favorite film in the set, it felt a little more like a Lethal Weapon movie and her stunt work in that looked more natural, I think IV was just too much for her and pushed the limits to her physical ability, and Michael Wong's double was plainly obvious. I'm really wondering how much better IV would have been with Michaelle Yeoh. Also I was curious why Donnie's character was such a **** in this until I realized he's an American cop (Lol).

The Michael Wong commentary on this is glorious, are they on drugs doing this? I feel like these are the conversations I have had high on painkillers after an operation. I guess this is from 2001 or something, pretty funny.

Bought these films on Blu-ray back in March 2023. Finally watched Yes, Madam! and Royal Warriors earlier this year and In the Line of Duty III and IV this past week. Had an absolute blast with all of them; watched Cantonese dubs/cuts, looking forward to rewatching with those classic cheesy English dubs and listening to the commentaries.

For Sega/Shenmue fans, was happy to see Segata Sanshiro/Iwao Hazuki himself, Hiroshi Fujioka, in III, and there were scenes in IV that definitely made me think Yu Suzuki took that film as inspiration for Shenmue I & II.

III is the best one with the best cast imo. Royal Warriors has been growing on me lately, it's definitely better than Yes Madame and I like watching it more than IV.

I love the overall tone of Royal Warriors and Yeoh is great as always. In terms of the ones released by Eureka, I'd rank them as;

IV
III
Royal Warriors
Yes Madam!

II and especially IV are top tier IMO and RW isn't far off. You can't go wrong going through them all.
