Yeah I'd rather have another Kino deal than Mill Creek, but a 5 dollar disc that could be better is better than vaulted forever.

I think they just didn't realize it because it doesn't exactly fit in anywhere specific, if it hadn't been for 301 having a flashback of events that happened in that episode it would've fit fine, but now it's like she's having a vision of the future instead of a flashback. The UK aired it between the season 2 and 3, which fits better but still wrong... It's a bit annoying, with a comedy they should always default to production order unless a show is filmed out of order (because of guest stars, location, etc) because you get little bits and callbacks that don't line up sometimes, but I can overlook a small detail to get season 1 in a watchable order.

Apt 23 is almost unwatchable in broadcast order, basically anything in season 2 that had the DWTS storyline was meant to be in season 1... it's fine that they wanted to hold them over for whatever reason, but they should've had all of the s1 episodes at the beginning instead of mixing them randomly throughout.

If Disney would commission a new remaster, then yes, but the one we have now is too terrible to bother with.

I don't see 911 or The Orville happening yet, unless it changes with this, MC just does complete series. Would like Legion and even The Gifted, but I almost feel like Disney wouldn't want anybody touching Marvel except them, even if it's not something they like. It'd be a trip if this ends up being how any of the Netflix or D+ shows got released.

It says live-action though. I don't see this as Disney just going to let them release whatever, it's probably going to mostly be stuff that Disney doesn't want to do themselves.

While I feel skeptical that we’ll get anything that will be super exciting, I’m hoping we can finally get The Hot Chick on blu-ray and hopefully Malcolm in the Middle Complete Series

It's probably a huge reach to think that Mill Creek would release a blu ray 4 pack of the movies Altman directed at Fox from 1978-1980 (A Wedding, Quintet, A Perfect Couple, HealtH). I'll continue to chase the dream.

I do hope the deal includes mostly to Blu-ray titles and not it's not just a bunch of reissues. I wonder when we might find out what some of the first titles might be?

Right off the bat I want...

License to Drive
Lucas
Death Hunt
Jane Eyre (Welles)

I missed out on those.

Also, Mill Creek had released that triple feature with .. THE CREEPING FLESH .. with Lee and Cushing. Now OOP.

So that's still a Sony title in the US, right?

I wonder which international labels are negotiating deals with Disney. Mill Creek for US market, we got that. But what about the rest of the world?

I'm cautiously optimistic as well. If the encoding on these are anything like .. THE FRESHMAN ('90) they released... I'm not gonna bite.

Hell yes! People like to crap on Mill Creek, but they give us stuff no other studio has ever been willing to touch.

11 Rita Hayworth films on blu-ray with English subtitles, never before available in HD, for less than $25.

And they're very capable of doing nice work, see their release of The Lady from Shanghai

Now Mill Creek, please put out The Village on blu-ray immediately.

Also, I would laugh so hard if True Lies & The Abyss were finally put out and it was by Mill Creek.

Clarification about the deal from a Disney PR guy on Twitter:
Quote:
To clarify your post, this arrangement is for existing live-action catalog titles released previously.
Quote:
Previously releases from Touchstone Pictures, Hollywood Pictures, 20th Century Studios...titles that have already been released on physical media. The deal is a distribution agreement to get deep catalog back in stores.
Quote:
Nothing new, no transfers or new products. It is simply taking older catalog releases and getting them into stores. I hope to see some classic titles I worked on in the past!

Ok, so basically just old stuff, like Fox titles that went OOP during the takeover? If it's nothing new, why bother? 95% of people have the old stuff they want already, they won't need to buy it again. This was stupid.

Oof, what a letdown. At the very least, we don't have to worry about Fox titles going OOP for a while longer. Getting some of those Fox titles, like the Marilyn Monroe films, back in circulation would be nice.

Hey, if I can get Lucas without paying some guy on ebay 100 dollars this is good news. Makes me feel stupid about buying up some of the Fox catalog titles I got FOMO with the last couple months, but oh well, I didn't overpay for any of them. Besides maybe Commando and Cocoon (were like 20 to import) and Back to School (again like 20 used).

That scares me a little. Makes me wonder if we will get 'new' stuff on blu-ray or just the same stuff redistributed/rereleased.

So, it goes back to my question here. Time to close up this thread.

Eh, if we get some good OOP or TT Fox titles, I'll see this as an absolute win.
