Combined with the underlying score that scene is simply beautiful!
The score reminds me a lot of Clint Mansell's minimalist techniques, especially his score for The Fountain. I wouldn't even be surprised if they used some of Mansell's stuff as temp tracks, it sounds that similar to me.

The Covenant is a rated R war movie that was not popular enough to be released on the 4K Blu-ray format but instead only received a Blu-ray/DVD combo pack. This movie was a box office flop with a budget of $55 million dollars and box office sales of $21.8 million dollars (big money loser for the studio). But I have not watched the movie yet in order to see if I like or dislike the movie.

The Covenant was released on 2K Blu-ray on 6-20-2023 and the only reason I purchased the movie is because a family member requested a Blu-ray version of the movie to play on their OPPO or Sony 4K Blu-ray player. 90% of the time I only comment on BD-100 4K Blu-ray disc releases. But the only reason I am posting about this movie now is because I just opened the factory new Blu-ray/DVD combo pack with slipcover, and even though the Blu-ray disc of the movie is in perfect condition, the DVD disc that came with, has been extremely scratched all over with massive scratch damage. I was considering exchanging the disc with Amazon, but since I do not watch DVD discs and since I scanned the disc a 32 times speed with PowerDVD 22 Ultra and it appeared to play fine, I will just keep the DVD disc and well not try and exchange a copy with Amazon. Blu-ray is in perfect condition.

I have not seen this movie yet, well finish watching it in a few hours (no extra features). But I do not plan on commenting about this movie unless it ends up being very good. I know that even though this movie was a disaster at the box office, there are many fans of this movie and this movie has a cult following.

Even though this is a fictional movie it is a realistic movie surrounded by many historical events that took place during the war in Afghanistan and how a US Army Special Forces Master Sergeant and an Afghan interpreter struggle to survive. This movie is fictional but similar to some actual historical events. Those that like war movies about historic events that occurred in Afghanistan might like this movie.

That is an excellent price. Was $22.95 back in June then in September around $15. $9.99 is a very good deal. Was an interesting movie.

I refrained from buying this yesterday while it was listed at $9.99 as I'm still hoping the 4K edition is announced any day now...

Shout Select in two or three years unless Amazon MGM changes their distribution model.

Still can't believe that Kandahar got the 4K release but this movie didn't. This movie is ten times better than Kandahar

While I generally don't watch war movies, I actually liked this one and the cast was great.

That said, seeing "Guy Ritchie" might make people have different expectations.

Currently on sale this weekend for $8.99 on Gruv. Tempted to grab it in lieu of waiting for the 4K.

Yeah, great price for a great film. Don't forget coupon codes to make it even better, SIGNUP20 for 20% or HAPPYANNY15 for 15%.

Yeah, that's a steal for one of my favorite films in recent years. Guy Ritchie got his groove back.

...that is always the way! At least the review says the existing blu has very good image quality just in case a 4K never happens.

Worth getting on Blu-Ray for the bargain price offered. If a 4K comes out chances are it'll be a 4K disc only release and you can combine it with the Blu to have a 4K/Blu-Ray set...
