You always come off so self-righteous to others opinions but make mountains out of molehills when others disagree with your opinion ... just food for thought .

The last time Marvel steelbooks were hard to get was 2018 when both Thor Ragnarok and AntMan and the Wasp came out that year... steels were short production compared to demand levels. 2-4 copies per store was normal. Now though, they are being over-produced beyond demand levels. 8-12 copies per store seems to be my average experience for the past several years I've said this over and over but Multiverse of Madness sat in stores for 9+ months before going away recently. Too many printed and until that declines again there's no reason to assume it would be hard to get. I saw about 10 copies at my store today.

Still bought one anyway so I could use the $5 cert. Bestbuy could let them sit on shelves another 6+ months before we see a discount. I still have doubts if I want to keep the collection going at $40 a pop but at least it seems like total films per year is on a downtrend at Marvel also. (Maybe that's wrong I just looked it up and 3 films per year seems to be what they've always done).

I remember being on the fence about Ant-Man 2 because I wasn't sure about the cover art. Ended up being better off not getting it then (sold out) because the cover art for the Zavvi 3D steelbook was lots better anyway.

But you're right they did sell out quickly.

I did the same thing skipping antman2, I was getting a little fatigued at the time and thought the cover was a little plain, but after that I bought the next 3 Marvel films and realized I had only one steelbook missing from the whole phase 1-3 so then I had to go back and buy it at scalper prices. Lesson learned I guess, no sense in skipping any unless I am going to quit collecting the phases entirely. This probably is not helping anyone that is thinking about quitting now

I have long been a believer in the power of the steelbook reissue and so far it hasn't failed me yet.

But 99% of the time I will either get it right away or not get something at all.

And my MCU is 100% complete with this one

The shrink wrap on my ISPU was really loose and ripped but miraculously no dents or scratches.

Those are two mcu steelbooks I had to buy off ebay for a higher amount. And the Ragnoral I ordered has the stupid spine with no title and character pictures on it. But it saved me like $20-$30 going with that one instead of the US one.

Kind of the same here, very small tear on the wrap, but everything was fine!

Haven’t bought a steelbook in about a month.

Of course, I get home and this one has a spine slash!

Returning it now! Sheesh

The one that arrived in the mail yesterday was dented (not BB’s fault—it was in a box with padding and the dents were under the paper overlay), so I swapped it with a mint copy in store today. I was pleased the store had so many copies so I could really cherry-pick the one I wanted. I ache for the days where I could do this with every BD and 4K release.

I didn't look in store, how much was this? I got the normal one and it was $34.99 so tax brought it to nearly $40 total, I guess it didn't have their usual discount from SRP? Or they priced the standard as the steelbook.

If I had noticed before she rang it up, I might not have gotten it... but WM didn't have any.

Don't see another thread to post this.

My Walmart exclusive edition just shipped. Should have a pin and an exclusive slipcover.

so it IS their fault considering it was shipped in a box with padding, which means the damage happened at the best buy distribution center?

No, it was manufactured by whatever company Buena Vista Distribution used to create the Steelbooks. Best Buy is just the retailer with the exclusive right to sell them. Best Buy doesn’t physically construct the casing.

Why are these keep getting dang expensive? I can see it now this time next year they will probably be $40 or more. These prices are getting out of control.

I don't care what anyone says, this movie was awesome!

Looked so good in 4k too!

I didn't see it in the theaters, so this was my first time seeing it and I thought conceptually & visually, the Quantum realm was amazing!

I don't know why some people can't just enjoy a movie for what it is - entertainment.

WERE YOU NOT ENTERTAINED?! LOL

Wasn't even woke. Some people will just never be happy and love bashing Marvel.

I still think this is one of the best MCU movies of recent years. And listening to the audio commentary makes me realize just how many amazing things I missed when I watched it in the theaters....

That's so odd. I remember when I picked up my copy of Ragnarok they were flush with them. Both versions (4K and blu/dvd).

Y'all want to see a scarcity of steelbooks? Gather 'round the campfire young 'uns, and let ole pappy Fett spin you a yarn of the before times, a tale about Thor: The Dark World, and how they were all gone on release day. You could find them ANYWHERE a best buy, and their inventories were bone dry for states as far as their search parameters would allow.

Even folks with them newfangled and fancy pre-orders got stiffed and were a might sore with them employees for that kerfuffle.

Yessir, a man could die of thirst searching the wastes for one of them. I would know, I plum near lost my mind tracking one down!

Well, that's all for now folks!
