I like it, but for the opposite reason. I find most of the early colony scenes unnecessary, but like the bit about her daughter and everything that comes later.
I know Cameron said on the blu-ray release that the Extended Cut was his preferred cut, so hoping that was true and the 4K is the Extended version; though I'd still be happy with the theatrical only as nothing in the extended is really critical.

So now Aliens has been thrown into the mix of James Cameron films that will receive a bunch of premature threads on here that will either be deleted or sent to the wishlist?

You know the 4Ks appeared on listings' of store sites, right? That is usually a good sign.

Great news! I really do wish Fox would start using DV. Darker movies like this is really where it can make a significant difference on my display.

There's been listings for them on store sites for years. There's no actual artwork or even real UPCs for them. I hope that they will come out but it's annoying that these threads keep being made without reliable and concrete information.

Then how to explain blu-ray.com even making an article about Titanic 4K being announced? I really have never seen blu-ray.com doing news articles with only rumors. Blu-ray.com only posts from official announcements. This is a first, hence why I feel it must be far more than a rumor, they must have a fantastic source.

By the way, I'm willing to say these UHDs will all come out before 2025. Please remember if I got them wrong.

Curious that TBA is in both the upc and item number...

You quoted it as:

"You are saying that the site is lying? This site is not one to naive and gullibleost rumors in their news section. They only post what is confirmed."

Also, are you saying that you don't believe Titanic is actually coming out?
Bolty, own up to what you did! Instead your original post disappeared!

CBS cut FTW, if not that then the theatrical. If this UHD is legit then I’m praying ol’ Jimbo has both cuts on the disc(s).

There was an announcement for a Porky's 4K from Arrow posted as a news article which was deleted not long after being published.

If they don't do branching, then better not.

I'm a Special Edition simp. Having said that, I haven’t seen the theatrical cut since I was a kid, so maybe my opinion would change upon revisiting it.

I think the Theatrical is the standard cable version now isn't it? I've only ever lived with the Special Edition and always miss the extra scenes whenever its shown on TV much like T2.

And to bring the film up to date finally, rumor has it Diznee's in-house digital art crew of confused teens is presently hard at work replacing all the sketchy old puppet effects crap and the even more sketchy-looking miniature model junk, with massive gobs upon gobs upon gobs of fresh new physics-defying CGI, throughout the film's entire runtime. So excited to see it fixed!

Disnee’s authoring house is one of the best in the business, so I’d almost like to see them attempt to put nearly five hours of 4K video onto a single UHD. A UHD66 would be too little space even for them, true, but a UHD100? Hmm. With minimal audio tracks it might just work, they’d have about 45 Mb/s to play with in total.

Branching would of coursh be preferable and should be the way to go. Disnee aren’t allergic to it like Warners are, they just don’t have a lot of alternate cuts bouncing around for whatever movies so don’t often have a reason to use it (though the Star Wars UHDs have different language crawls and clean subtitles shots that play when you select a foreign language, and didn’t the Blu of Beauty and the Beast have different versions on it?).

The release page for it is still up though. I believe it will come out. Amadeus will likely come out next year, and the 4K restoration for it has already been finished and screened.
