So they pulled a 2nd CODA the first time around

Wish I pulled the trigger when it was around 22 EUR.

I also appreciate they they didn't split into 2 discs. Hope it is encoded competently.

I don't have the disc yet (pre-ordered from Amazon.it) but some people I know that have it early said so.

Yes but it is technically something the distributor forces and is a violation of the region coding standards.

Where have you heard this from? Can you provide a source?

Eagle's 4K of The Conformist was also region locked, so I wouldn't be surprised.

Happy to hear about the subs!

I am not 4K, only blu ray, and Region Free, so I'll be able to play the blu ray, for sure.

Also, for those that haven't seen the film: Understand, that as a stylistic choice, some bits of Osage were never subtitled to begin with, so these moments are not "missing subtitles". They weren't ever subtitled. There are only about four key moments that had subs, and then a line here or there.

98% of the film is in spoken English. They only subbed scenes where it was crucial to understand. An opening prayer; a scene with the 4 sisters at an outdoor picnic having 'girl talk' amongst themselves; some brief dialogue between Mollie and her mother, and the mother and Mollie's sister Anna;a brief sequence where a baby is being named at a ceremony by a holy man, and one or two other lines between Ernest and Mollie.

There are a few other moments of Osage, but they weren't subbed, either because you'll get the gist of it, anyway, or because it isn't important.

Anyway, still glad the subs will be there for those few scenes.

It worked for my copy of The Conformist, so it should in theory work here too.

True, but that one was only distributed by them, the disc itself was produced by RaroVideo.

Eagle puts out a lot of stuff, but they don't produce all of it themselves, such as their Sony and Disney releases.
