Why is there always such a difference between HDR10+ and Dolby Vision? I just don't understand how all of this works. Why not do incredible work for both layers, or whatever they are called? It always goes back to that Halloween 2 bath scene where if you have a player that handles DV, you're a-okay. If you only have HDR10+, you're not.
Why can't I understand all of this and get it through my thick head? |

The presents line is one that I've seen a lot of conflicting opinions based on screen caps. Like others, I like to see the caps but they don't tell the whole story vs. motion. And obviously for uhds there's the issue of sdr conversion. It can be confusing when relying on a few random still frames.

CAH has some caps up. They do not look good. I still haven't picked this up.

There's a confirmation on page 2-3 where a person compared the BRs and this is from the new scan BUT it's great on BR. I agree as well. It's the 4K that's the problem. Really don't get these studios who know those with 4k machines and into "4K" would be the sticklers of the most sticklerish for perfection. And yet they do these terrible encodes and DNR wax jobs on the 4K. I did buy this but like all 4K sets I buy, I buy them for the BR, but ONLY if the BR is from a new transfer. All the 4k sets I have may come in handy if I get a 4k player one day, but for now I buy them for the BRs if the BR is from a new transfer. I liked the BR in this, it is not a huge improvement but it is a little over the 2009 release. I would recommend it for those who don't have it at all or want a newer BR transfer but NOT for any other reason.
