I got charged $41.98 + S&H (so $44 total) for the steelbook but it was listed again at $34.96. I thought that Walmart automatically price reduced to whatever the lowest price was that they listed it at. Did I mistake that?

This reddit thread indicates they do not have a pre-order price guarantee.

Their guarantee only means if you order it at a cheaper price and it goes up you won't be charged the higher price. Whatever price you order it at pretty much sticks.

How true. Not exactly what their lowest price guarantee states. I ordered the Venom steelbook when it first went up. It then dropped about $17.00 on the release date. Walmart charged me the higher price. Spent 30 minutes in chat with them. They said it was a "programming issue". Offered me a $17.00 credit against my card. When it didn't appear I did another chat and they could find no record. Ended up giving me a $15.00 'COURTESY" promo code.

Life is too short to screw with this stuff. Going forward I'll either order the same from Amazon or if a Walmart exclusive I'll cancel the order and reorder at the lower price.

I'm at Walmart now, and they are carrying the steelbook in store. My location has two available, that they put out early.

Thanks for the reply. Makes sense even though I don't like it haha. I figured it would be more in line with what Amazon does. Oh well, may inquire about it with Walmart if I can save a few bucks but it's also minimal at the end of the day. But good to know for the future.

I didn't really have the money to buy it right now so, I hid a copy. Hopefully I hid it well enough that it will still be there when i'm ready to purchase it

This made me laugh as it reminded me of past stories I've read on this forum.

Back when Best Buy was still selling movies, I remember reading about someone who would hide and stash away steelbooks in a washer! Apparently, it was a regular occurrence as all the employees knew about the hiding spot. When a customer couldn't find a steelbook, they would tell them to go check the washer!
