Oh man…this thread’s already in the running to top the original Elm Street 4K thread(s)!

Imagine Freddy saying “you’re all my children now” but they’re horses.

I'm not sure who or what Mike even is now. Maybe he's the friends we made along the way?

Feels like a Sybil-esque collection of personalities fighting for dominance inside of one head. It’s kinda starting to get frightening at this point. It doesn’t feel like a bit anymore

Damn I took a deep dive into some of those posts for a minute, people were arguing about the Terminator remastered Blu ray back in 2012 over teal and whatnot lmao the more things change. Also funny seeing people speculate if Cameron would mess up the Abyss in the same way when it came to Blu (lol long wait). Shoutout HD Goofnut and Walts Ghost in the replies.

I thought my leaked pic was super obviously fake with the titles I chose, so I do hope no one truly fell for it. I only used a free Paint.net program and just eyeballed it, as I have little to no photo-editing skills. Also, I even intentionally misspelled Anniversaries on the side to match the other "leaked" photos misspelling it.

Here is the actual photo before I took a pic of my monitor to make it look all sneaky, and covert (you can actually see a ruler guide at the top of that pic because I took it while still in the photo editing program )

It was officially released on VHS and laser disc. So, it is totally possible.

New Line is unlikely to reinstate cut footage for which there aren't 35mm elements. That it's only ever been seen in standard def via the above releases is not a great sign that the trims survive in high quality, unless we want to hold out hope that they stumbled upon them in the vaults just recently. Probably at best we'll get the extended scenes standalone in VHS quality.

I never thought we'd get the uncut version of the original film again, and yet...

So yeah, it depends on whether there's film elements. There was that rumour that WB would be providing unrated versions of three of the films.

Of course there are film elements for the unrated bits.

Now whether they'll bother taking them out of the vault is another matter. They did for the original.

And wasn't there some mumbling of Warner Bros. even restoring the 3-D finale for Fredd's Dead?

The first NIGHTMARE definitely seems to have an impressive amount of its outtakes/dailies extant; at least, that was true as of 2006 or whenever they produced that excellent making of featurette that is loaded with glimpses of such footage.

But it's pretty exceptional when that happens, and there's no reason to assume that the sequels are similarly blessed.

It wasn’t mumblings the director posted it on her instagram.

Not sure if I love the series enough to put down what will undoubtedly be $100+ on anything from Warner Bros. given their reputation lately. Wish Shout! had gotten the rights to do a boxset.
