Yes, because a 2K transfer from years back is going to be the best this movie can look......

I wouldn't expect any intelligent contributions from that user.

I paid $3 for the DVD and $8 for the Blu-ray, so less than $50 for three iterations over almost 30 years isn't bad.

For me, this isn't a matter of slight preference, it's the director's cut or nothing.

P.S. great news on the 4K version, this was a bargain bin blind buy for me believe it or not, I think the only reason I bought it back then was because Kiefer Sutherland was in the credits and it was new line. I totally missed this movie in video stores and theatre back in the day.

Almost half of all 4K's are not worth the upgrade from Blu-Ray they either leave extras out of charge too much for the HDR boost. GDR is usually not worth the 20-40 increase in price. SOrry pal.

Gahhhh awesome news!!!! I've been waiting a long time for Dark City to get the 4K treatment, as are many. Hoping Arrow releases it.

This is fun! I paid $4.00 for a copy on VHS at a rental store $12.00 for my first dvd copy, $19.00 for the Blu-ray and I repurchased 2 extra dvd copies, One to replace the snap case version and one that had a better conditioned insert to replace the slightly damaged one I had (those were $2-5 dollars, can’t recall which) so i’ve spent approx. ~42ish dollars…and if they release the UHD it will be another $25 (or $50 depending on insanity of todays MSRP lol)

You can stream the Theatrical with an Amazon Prime sub. Not the directors cut though.

I love Dark City, and I think it's cool how similar it is to The Truman Show. Both movies even feature a scene where
[Show spoiler]the main character reaches the end of the false city they live in, and knock a hole in the wall.

I'm sure it is a coincidence, but the similarities between the two movies are uncanny.

The Thirteenth Floor also has an end of a city
