Apropos of nothing, it looks like Adam Marcus has a replica of the jester mask from The House on Sorority Row (or the one from Slaughter High?) in his collection.

Would of gone with the hell spawn on the left hand side instead of the poster variation of the mask (Chrome) but then remembered it was deleted from the movie completely

I'll probably wait to buy whatever 'Friday's' Arrow puts out, since my love for the franchise is pretty selective.

Would be nice if the left hand side of the mask was mirrored/foiled to recreate the look of the chrome mask on the poster

Jason X cover is just going to be the movie poster, but done in this art style. Won't need to be changed much. They may change the screaming woman in the middle, though they should keep the machete running across the two different masks.

why does the Jason goes to hell artwork as jason x on the left and jason goes to hell on the right when it should be jason goes to hell on the left and jason x on the right.

Horrible artwork has never prevented me from buying a movie I want, but this is awful close. If Jason X is as bad, that could do it. I already strongly dislike 90% of that film.

I can tell I'm in the minority here... But I like this as slipcover art. Arrow gets points for it matching the F13 remake. That said, I'm sure it will have reversible slip art, and thats where I'll happily have the OG poster art.

I stand corrected. I was under the impression that it was a US deal only (and that The Last Starfighter was from Universal all around).

I may be wrong again, but I also thought that Paramount were already doing new scans of the films and those were the ones that were completed when SF got the license for their box set.

Then again, we still haven't seen any rereleases of 5-8 in steelbook form with new transfers, either.

I did pass on 2009 because the Blu I have is perfectly fine and I'm not too fussed about the extras, but man... this might be the straw that breaks the camel's back. I currently have the Warner Blu of the theatrical cut and an open matte, 4:3 DVD of the unrated/bloodier version. I would like that second version of the movie in HD! Plus I imagine the extras could be fascinating for this weird and wonderful movie.
I feel like I remember Kino trying that with Silence of the Lambs, and it not going well (hence, the UHD with Special Features Blu-Rays they released for any other title where Criterion had the Blu-Ray license). Granted, we're talking about different labels, but we also have a precedent with Arrow's release of the remake. I think it's safe to assume it will just be the UHD (which will work out fine for me; I'll just switch the cases in my box set to hold the discs too, something I've gotten WAY too comfortable doing ).

Never got to see Mallrats in its first theatrical run, unfortunately, but like most people, I fell in love with it (and most of Kevin Smith's "classic" run) on video. And I did finally get to see it in a theater for my 40th birthday, thanks to my girlfriend, whom I turned into a Kevin Smith fan fairly early on into our relationship.

I do miss the nostalgic days of seeing movies in the theater when I was younger. Not just with the types of movies regularly being played, but with the overall experience. It doesn't feel the same nowadays when I make trips out to the theater.

Well, I'm not surprised that that would be the art. It fits the aesthetic of the remake's commissioned art. I really liked that artwork, but this one isn't doing it for me. Like I said before, though, I'll just put the discs in the box set, and stick with that.

Arrow's FB post talking about their Friday announcements came with a graphic with a "Welcome To Hell" motif. That, along with the cover art leak, means it's likely getting announced.

I'm sure Jason X will be a few months later, and then it's anyone's guess whether Freddy Vs. Jason got licensed (or if it'll be in WB's upcoming box set).

I don't think WB is putting FvJ in the NOES boxset. I could see Arrow releasing like F13 remake>JGTH>JX>FvJ>NOES remake.

It sucks WB and Paramount couldn’t get together to release a 4K box set. It would have been sweet.

Totally agree. I recall movie audiences being more polite and less distracting in those days. Cell phones are obviously a huge negative and it's frustrating to see multiple phones as you're trying to watch. I just can't remember bad crowds from the 90s, but I can remember a bunch of them from the last decade. It was also nice to see 35mm film with every movie.

The overall experience did just seem like a bigger deal. This was back when the movie industry was just way more mysterious in general. There were no rotten tomato scores, a million critics online, people spoiling the movies, and trailers tended to reveal less of the movie as well. Plus, vhs was nowhere in the same league as theaters and so it was the best presentation quality by a huge margin.
