Nice to see this coming, but the SC UHD I've had for years will do. Another non-sale do to the US being so far behind. Again, same with many of these companies, if they had it and were planning to release it, say something.

Will the Blu-ray be remastered? I know some of Lionsgate steelbooks have been with remastered Blu-rays, but some have not. Anyone know how things have been recently with those?

I don't think they specifically say it's remastered, but their main bullet point that will be at the top of the extras list references the Studiocanal restoration, so with it being a combo release, I have to assume that bullet point applies to both 4K and BD discs. The BD disc is brand new in any event so it would be dumb if they just recycled their old transfer onto it. Hopefully we can get proper confirmation though.

  • This is the 2019-2020 4K restoration commissioned by StudioCanal from the original 35mm negative, supervised by Director Paul Verhoeven

That makes me think it's remastered, but who knows. I know their limited edition releases that are on their site like The Conversation include remastered Blu-rays. Almost bought The Conversation yesterday, but $80 seems a bit steep for one movie.

I grew up Catholic and was not allowed to watch such things as a teenager !

The original sound mixes should be mandatory.

It’s a new Blu-ray featuring the approved Studio Canal master.

IF so, I'll have a pre-order ready Tues. A core memory is eight year old me not being allowed to watch (I liked Michael Douglas from Romancing the Stone then), so now old me gets the last laugh.

He certainly romances a Stone in this movie too

They both starred in separate Indiana Jones pastiches in the 80s that also had lame sequels.

Part of me wishes this had both the theatrical and unrated cuts. From a historical perspective.

I think this might have been the time stamp for the grading error in the master I mentioned in the other thread. If it it is a shot as Douglas and Stone are walking outside and by a garage door with a sign on it, the color just starts radically shifting on the garage, and the sign which was a different color is the same exact dark teal as the door when it does this. Such a glaring error, like ot was digitally graded and someone was careless

I could be wrong, as I don’t remember the time it happens. I find this so distracting.
