Years ago, Christopher Cain was trying to get Young Guns III off the ground - this one would be about Jesse James and his gang. Obviously didn't work out.

They already did that anyway in the vein of Young Guns. It was terrible, but did star a young Colin Farrell as Jesse James.

Has anyone ever mentioned if Alan Ruck is coming back?

Just ordered the Umbrella release of Young Guns/Young Guns II not only in anticipation of this, but also because I've never gotten around to watching the second one!

Mighty Ducks, he was good in that.
Maximum Overdrive, too much time stuck at the Diner, but the scenes on the road and in the suburbs were good. The trucks and machines hunting the humans.

Met Emilio on Sunday. He assured me that fans will love what they plan to do with this sequel.

The Mighty Duck Man wouldn't have lied to me, right?

That was a great interview. Emilio is a well spoken and articulate guy. He says the movie is happening and we'll see.

The story is Old Man Billy the Kid getting recruited by Pancho Villa. We'll see.....

In the full interview he reviewed he wrote sequels to Mighty Ducks and Maximum Overdrive during Covid but both got turned down. I was never a big Ducks fan, but I'd watch to a Maximum Overdrive 2 just to see what they'd come up with.

I'm not a huge Western fan, or even a rabid admirer of history, but Emilio is one of my favorite actors, and the way he played Billy the Kid made me laugh and want to cry as well. I'd love to own both of the previous films, but I'm waiting for the second to hit 4K (it has a 4/5 video score, but paying over $20 for a mostly-barebones release isn't for me). It would truly be great if they did a UHD triple pack, when this new one hits home video probably sometime next year.

Emilio doesn't look too old in that interview as Billy the Kid in Young Guns 2, so I can see a 3rd film being possible...

Vintage Guns could be a potential title, rather than the expected Old Guns or Elderly Guns.

No need to change the title. As he explains in that interview, the plot would involve him training and leading a young group of Mexican rebels. Those rebels would be our new "Young Guns" of the title.
