I contacted Hammer to get clarification on whether their release will really be region B or not, and here is their response:

I still think they're just parroting from the Blu-ray specs and the fact that they've been told it's a restricted release, but we'll see.

They've also said that Warner Archive will release the film in "ROW", meaning the rest of the world and they don't do that. Technically, WB could just release the discs internationally, but past releases haven't materialized beyond the UK and US.

The exclusive content is locked behind a Region B Blu-ray, anyway, so for most people, it won't matter and they'll buy local.

I don't think they mean WAC would sell it directly anywhere but NA, but rather that the rest of the world could purchase that release since it doesn't have the UK only restrictions of their release.

With regards to region coding, Diabolik and Orbit DVD just put up their pre-orders and claim the 4K is region free, so let's see how this plays out.

I went with Orbit, fingers crossed.

I shot them an email, and their response was that their UK rep did state the 4K is not region locked
(Hmmmm [??])

I wonder if this will turn out like the Imprint blu rays that are labelled as Region B for licensing purposes, but turn out to be region free when played.

I am sure not willing to take that risk. Also whoever responds to their emails may be working remotely rather then in the company's office. I found that out the hard way for one disc selling company.

Diabolik has it up for pre-order at $80!

This recent trend of people only posting the Orbit pre-order prices as some kind of burn against the company is silly.

I posted both Diabolik and Orbit links earlier in the thread. I haven't seen any kind of trend like what you're referring to. Why would there be?

Not talking about your links. I've seen it in a couple threads now where the price for Orbit is listed as if it's some shocking dollar amount and not what all the boutiques will be charging. My comment was specifically about the post directly above mine.

The U.K. price is £60 so that’s £50 excluding VAT.

Obviously the US retailers need to convert to dollars but they also need to add in the tariff for U.K. imports which IIRC is 10%.

10% today, who knows what it will be tomorrow. These retailers had better include a risk premium in their pricing.

Diabolik put up a post today on social media that said pre-order prices are locked in. Once you pay for it, it's paid for no matter what changes in the following months before release date.

Orbit did good on my Dollars trilogy, so I went with them on the pre order but honestly, I would feel confident about Atomic and Diabolik too. I still do preorders from them too.

Signed up for the early launch notification on Hammer’s website. Hoping to get one of the preorder rewards. They're all pretty cool though so not too worried which one I get

Start hitting refresh repeatedly on the website around 11:50am as they go live before the official 12pm time.

If you wait for the email they’re normally sent late after all the rewards have gone although this time they may hang around for longer as they are only selling to U.K. address as foreigners locked out.
