I enjoyed it quite a bit. I will definitely buy this on blu when it eventually comes out. I think the audio would be great.

I have a feeling that this will be Paramount's first movie back on blu. it just came out in theatres and by the time its run is through it will be around may which is the same time that WB goes exclusive. Just my thoughts on things

I loved this movie, found this on Wikipedia:

According to website VideoETA.com, the film is estimated to have a possible DVD release June 2008.[54] News reports have surfaced, however, that the DVD will be available in April. No other details have been announced and the studio has not officially released a date.

Not sure about the date of a high def release, but I'm crossing my fingers paramount goes Blu soon...I would love this movie on Blu-ray!

HD DVD will live longer than anyone here thinks...Paramount and Universal are 2 of the big 3 movie distributers in the US, so dont expect them to give up anytime soon...They know they will make their money back when they re-release their titles on Blu ray, so why not get some money on HD DVD while they can? Its unevitable that BLU ray will win the battle, but I think it'll be around next January after all of the Summer Blockbusters have been released, then Paramount and Universal will become exclusive, so people will then buy the Summer blockbuster movies BLU ray. So they will get money from HD DVD buyers, then become neutral for a few months by releasing their 2008 Summer Blockbusters i.e. Iron Man, Indy4. to Blu Ray, and then become BLUsclusive by May of 2009...

Just a prediction

exactly, I only went opening night to find out what the monster was...I knew the movie would suck..Didnt think the monster would too...But I had gift certificates for Christmas that had to be used. I wanted to find out the monster from the movie and not an entertainment website

I don't agree with that at all...they did a ton of viral marketing in late 2007 before the film was released. I was so intrigued I actually went back and saw it again last night.

There are apparently a couple websites connected to this movie that may offer some backstory, or further clues as to where the monster came from. Check out www.1-18-08.com and also this link:

Check this site;

http://imdb.com/title/tt1060277/faq#.2.1.48

Head to the top of the page for more faq.

This was a great movie, not to everyones taste and clearly some people just don't get the point of it, but hey, it's a free world.

Sadly I think Paramount will use this as a high profile HD-DVD only release, along with Iron Man and The Incredible Hulk. Bah.

Overall I think it was a very solid movie, blu it is a must. So far the best movie of '08

No, i've seen it and i'm not sure i would like to see all that shakiness on hi-def, i give it credit for the audio but nothing more...it can stay on sdvd and hd...i'll pass on this one...

I finally saw this movie and man was I disapointed. What a let down. It was way to slow and boring. To much screaming and blurry camera shots. I was so excited for it. Oh well. I was excited about the Star Trek trailer though.

i enjoyed this movie. it was a new spin on the classic monster movie. the handheld camera made the movie more immersive and the sound was phenomenal. the camera motion did not bother me, but i think the same effect could have been obtained with less jerkiness.

Default Cloverfield on blueray? might just happen!

http://staging.itwire.com.au/content/view/16046/1023/
"Confirmation that Universal and Paramount, the last two movie studios that support the HD DVD format, are now free to switch to Blu-ray, joining the other major studios, appears to sound the death knell for HD DVD."
finally! i might be able to watch cloverfield on 1080p blueray on my ps3.
