Pretty certain they ALL say Dolby Digital TrueHD (which actually isn't a format but I'll let it slide since on the disc menu itself it's labeled Dolby TrueHD).

Well, I just received both the "Perfect Storm" and "Dark City" yesterday from WB so I can't understand the problems others have had with delivery from WB. "Perfect Storm" has fairly good PQ but the AQ is the real selling point on this disk. Planning on watching "Dark City" today!

You were able to play TrueHD track using Panny BD30?
I couldn't get it to work. I thought the audio would be great but have yet to experience it. Hopefully I'll get the FW upgraded tonight.

I hate when they do that. You order two movies to save on shipping and they wait until they can send them both to save on shipping costs.

Seems fair, if you are going to save on shipping, why can't they?

The problem is they don't.

Every time I get two movies in the same week from the WB store, they ship them out on the same day and I receive them on the same day, but they are in two different packages.

WB (supposedly) shipped my package with "The Perfect Storm" last Friday, but UPS tracking just says that they have received the billing information.

I just checked and it looks like it went out yesterday for me. I love their shipping because they seem to overnight usually. However, its pretty dumb that they tend to ship me movies coming out in the same week that were placed on one order in seperate boxes. For example next week I am anticipating three boxes containing the harold and kumar movies and lost boys

lol didnt read this post till after I posted. It definitely is annoying. I would think it would save them tons of money if they worked this out.

Yes I was and it sounded awesome! However, you should be aware that the PQ is not the best I've ever seen on blu. Thought the picture was kind of soft but the colors, etc. were very good.

Thanks for the compliment Beta Man! I've also scheduled an ISF technician to come out and do my picture right with the VP50Pro and all of my video inputs. Was told it would only cost me $360 which I think is a great price considering I have been unable to find anyone in my state who knows anything about setting up a TV and VP50Pro at the same time for ultimate PQ!

Jaggies are definitely fixed. When I looked at the back of the disc I swore it was a BD25. When I saw the scan I took another look second layer ring is very faint. Not that it really matters since its only 30GB.

FYI - there seems to be an issue with the TrueHD track for those using the Panny BD30.

A user at AVS reported no sounded and a flashing indicator on his Onkyo 605 when trying to use the TrueHD track.

I have the same player and receiver, with updated firmware, and experienced the same issue.

The track seems to decode fine on the PS3.

I've reported it to Panasonic.

So I guess no matter how many times people explain that some discs were created while HD DVD was still around (since they do their encodes in house, don't you think they were set up for HD DVD when they did this encode?) people are still going to whine about releases that aren't going to be fixed. And no matter how many times WB says they're working on getting better and that they understand the Blu-Ray fans, people are still going to ignore them and try to complain. Sad....

Instead of being sharp aliasing, it's now sharp aliasing that has been run through a softening filter. The final outcome looks like a blend between aliasing and color fringing.

I'm passing on this one, especially with the Panny BD30 audio issue. Gotta save for September and October releases and every little bit helps.

PQ was a mixed bag on my Panny plasma display ranging from 3.50 to 4.25.

I do like the movie and I'm disappointed with this one but in all honesty I can do without it. This is another instance of Netflix helping out with viewing before buying.
