I think those covers look pretty cool compared to what we got for the Ultimate Edition sets. Unfortunately, that really awful head replacement on Halle Berry is still featured on Die Another Day's cover.

The real problem was Halle Berry's placement in the film at all (along with Madonna, surely a low-water mark in the Bond franchise). That movie is a sad mess of bad CGI, wooden "acting", and on-screen credulity-straining ridiculousness to rival Moonraker. At least Moonraker didn't seem to take itself so seriously.

Looks like the DVDs featurewise. Honestly, the DVDs look (and sound) stunning... for DTS DVDs... so those BRs will be even moreso. [Would guess that most of those features will be in standard def.]

May grab a few of the BRs at some point, but since I'm just up to On Her Majesty's Secret Service in the DVDs (bought the 4 box sets about a year and a half ago, and just a few months ago started going through them), will probably wait until I've been through them all before doing so...

Funny, we still don't know if the original mono mixes are included, or not. My guess is they will not, and that will be a double dip when the next Bond comes out in three years. I wish I'm wrong !

The sound : the movies should all feature both lossless mono, and uncompressed 5.1 remixes. If they only feature the 5.1 like the recent Terminator release, It's a no buy for me, I want the choice of the original mix. If all we get is DD+, same thing, there's enough space on these BR to include both. I don't want mp3 quality compressed sound, I want the full on experience, or I'll stick to upscaling the old discs.

I don't believe Lowrey was responsible for that abominable EE. The edge enhancement would have been the result of a compression "artist" working for the studio.

As far as the framing, I'm honestly not sure on who is responsible on that. I don't know where in the process it was introduced - in the telecine, in the restoration, or in the mastering. I'd have thought in the telecine process they would have scanned full frames, and in restoration they'd be doing full frame as well. I could be wrong though.

I'd like to see some screen shots of the 4k restored frames they did.
